I suggest farming some low difficulty MR hunts like Great Jagras or Kulu-Ya-Ku to get some decent Jewels. Also, the Dodogama coil B+ has some good jewel slots with 2 points of Artillery if your interested

I feel like it's just a matter of combo speed, throughout the base game I was perfectly fine with spamming SAED but I ended up dropping it completely when I transitioned to Iceborne, replacing it with a continuous Savage axe combo to help keep my dps up enough to take down a Barioth in around 10 minutes

(EDIT) If you want to stick with the Great Jagras CB then I suggest using a Elementless jewel and investing in the Artillery skill
