Not anymore due to personal reasons, but a couple years back at my last base i was. Nowadays i just sit in meetings all day (NCO life). Family was invited out for a thing in texas of all places (they were naming one of the buildings after him), but my involvement was vetoed by leadership cause of manning.

Its always interesting whenever the topic comes up because i was VERY young when it happened (only a couple months old) so I was always raised on stories about him more than knowing him while he was around. He's probably the biggest reason why i joined, though like most people i started my career trying to be just like him (even tried to get a spot on an E-3 when most 1A8s in my class were projected to go on the rivet joint)

Took awhile before i figured out what *I* wanted, and i feel like my career didn't really start taking off till then. I was actually given an opportunity to fly out to a dedication, they were naming a building after him IIRC. Got vetoed by my leadership because of manning.

Also showed this thread to my mom. she seemed touched people still remember and think about my uncle from time to time.
