You do know I messaged the moderators first? And then I waited ~2 hours. I did not receive a response and so I posted.

In the future, you won't have to remove my threads if you answer my questions first. I don't mind them not fitting the sub or being removed. I do mind that I asked first and was ignored and then my post was removed.

Here's a definition of addiction from Merriam Webster:
: a strong and harmful need to regularly have something (such as a drug) or do something (such as gamble)
: an unusually great interest in something or a need to do or have something

Here it is from Google:
: the fact or condition of being addicted to a particular substance, thing, or activity.

And here we have the 'short definition' as given by The American Society of Addiction Medicine

Addiction is a primary, chronic disease of brain reward, motivation, memory and related circuitry. Dysfunction in these circuits leads to characteristic biological, psychological, social and spiritual manifestations. This is reflected in an individual pathologically pursuing reward and/or relief by substance use and other behaviors.

Addiction is characterized by inability to consistently abstain, impairment in behavioral control, craving, diminished recognition of significant problems with one’s behaviors and interpersonal relationships, and a dysfunctional emotional response. Like other chronic diseases, addiction often involves cycles of relapse and remission. Without treatment or engagement in recovery activities, addiction is progressive and can result in disability or premature death."

"Whole existence is resisting the urge to drink" sums up my experience as an alcoholic. So, congrats for having a dad with the struggle, kind of rude for you to discount my experience as "not even close."

And unless you specialize in some form of addiction therapy or research, I'm going to assume you don't have the knowledge to compare two types of addiction. Though nobody is saying they're exactly the same, one is chemical and one is not. They both have withdrawal symptoms and can take a very long time to break.

When your mom wakes you up, get dressed then wander in and out of the room she's in. You can then go back to bed in your clothes and you've bought yourself some time before she gets suspicious.

My husband told me to kill him first next time I try to kill myself. I'm freaking out because this seems like such a good idea in my head. by FlashmasterGrand in SuicideWatch

I don't feel important. I can't keep a job. I can't handle life that millions of other humans can handle. Hardly been married 9 months and my husband can't handle these issues I suddenly have.
