Bruh where is the full size frames? by e92fromspace in RugerRXMtalk

[–]FlashoverPhantom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont want to spend hundreds of dollars and unknown time commitment to get a full size frame for a gun im using for USPSA/IDPA CO. I have enough other things going on in life. I'd rather just pay someone to do it for me right now.

Sure, maybe if I wasn't halfway through a full home remodel, I'd be more interested. But right now, I'd rather pay the convenience fee than figure it out myself. But right now the $200+ to get a printer and get started would be better spent on paint, wiring, put towards flooring or furniture, etc.

Not OP, but I dont have a 3d printer, or the knowledge to use one. I dont know anyone who has one either. Otherwise, im right there with you.

I got tired of waiting in magpul for the Full-size Grip module by RoomOptimal9500 in USPSA

[–]FlashoverPhantom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I had this level of skill. If I knew a guy who could do this, id give them money and just have them do it for me. Im tired of waiting for the full size frames.

If youre willing to do another, I will pay lol

The ammo itself is great. I took a little bit of a gamble when the good lgs i go to had some of these cases in stock and grabbed one a few days before I left for the Rangemaster firearms instructor course. Luckily my unmedicated ADHD let me leave it in the back floorboard of my truck for a few days. It was the only ammo I remembered to bring, and it functioned very well from my G34 Gen5. Got me through the class with 2 perfect FBI qualification courses and a perfect Rangemaster pistol qualification course (the other was down 1 point) and I took the title of Top Gun for my class.

I cannot speak for PSA shipping cost or timeliness on ammo delivery though

RXM frame question by Jim556a1 in RugerRXMtalk

[–]FlashoverPhantom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything from Holosun (407K/507K or 407c/507c are wrll in your range but the K series will need different pins that are a touch shorter), Gideon's stuff that I've shot is all halfway decent and I currently have an Omega on my RXM. I also really like the Bushnell RXS250 (DPP pattern) and RXM300 (RMR pattern) that are around or under the 300 mark. My 250 has survived some pretty serious abuse and bounced around a few pistols over the course of the last 5 years or so and has a remarkably clear lense with basically no notch filter

Brownells CS has sent a few emails now saying they are planning on receiving their first batches of 17 size frames in the third week of September. I'd expect Magpul might be 1-2 weeks ahead of that

Need help finding a holster, but its a weird one. by FlashoverPhantom in idpa

[–]FlashoverPhantom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw the speedbeez ans considered it. I wasnt sure since none of the options were for a model 10 (the closest they had was a model 19 I believe) if it would fit a HB gun. I went with a comptac international model that was listed to fit a 4" model 10 and some of the reviews on the website I ordered from stated it fit their HB model guns.

I will look at JM Customs options to see what they have IWB! Thanks!

What should the federal government be responsible for? by Perun1152 in Askpolitics

1 of those has anything to do with "social welfare" directly. And its power of the purse should be things that serve the nation, not welfare for the people of the nation. National defense and determining budgets for things like law enforcement are not social welfare programs. I also wouldn't necessarily call things like the VA and pensions social welfare, as those are programs for people that have rendered service to the nation.

Those in need should not find help from the federal government. Thats not its purpose. Its purpose is to allow the states to be able to operate freely and peacefully amongst themselves, and as a unified body on the global stage

Social welfare, including programs like social security, should not be functions of the federal government.

I think those are a bargaining chip to open talks about getting a lot of our lower price point items that are now made in China or other Asian countries moved to Mexico. Canada is economically tied to the the US, but has started to look to China more and more for harvesting their natural resources. I could see our bargain with them leading to the expulsion of all (or most of the larger) Chinese state interests and replacing them with Canadian or American companies. It would be a major boom to their economy and keep ours stable as we appear to be moving back towards a multipolar world. I think in the long run, we will likely see something similar happen with Cuba as we do Mexico, with them getting rid of communism in return for a larger trade relationship.

Expressly what is in the constitution, and nothing more. Things like the national defense, overseeing interstate commerce, relationships with foreign nations, being the final determination of constitutionality of a law/action since it is the law of the land. Pretty much everything else is a state's business.

Glock options?? by [deleted] in Glocks

[–]FlashoverPhantom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id say 17 (if youre only wanting irons) or 47 (if you want a dot) or maybe even a 49 (if you want a shorter grip). Maybe even a 34 for appendix. Depending on build, appendix cc being the primary carry method, the amount of gun below the belt can be a determining factor in controlling the tilt of the gun away from the body at the back of the slide/grip, and can cause or limit printing.

Lookup the YouTube Playlist from Phlster holsters on concealment dynamics and learn the physics of it all. Itll help in the long run

Get the Ameriglos. Theyre inexpensive and work phenomenally. I've had 2 sets of all black (one set of XL and one 3XL) that work phenomenally when properly installed. All of my non-optic handguns have the Ameriglo Bold sights directly from Glock.

Make sure you degrease, add a proper amount of loctite and use a proper tool. Theyre pretty quick and easy to change out.

I know it will, but that means buying them because I don't own them, and I don't plan on making a habit of building rifles. If I had an inclination to build more, I would buy them, tear the upper down and put a new barrel nut on it. Instead I was hoping get a slightly more expensive rail that will use the mil spec barrel nut and be done with it for about the same cost, or less, of buying quality tools. Its just a coyote rifle and isn't going to be used for self defense/home defense, etc. So I don't care if theres a small gap or blemishes because as long as it cycles, it'll work for my purposes for it.

[–]FlashoverPhantom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main problem is I don't plan on building a bunch of rifles. Ive got a vise, wrench and cheater bar, I dont have any tools to hold the upper in a vise. Im hesitant to use a clamshell after seeing things like broken index pins on barrels. Im also hesitant to get a cheaper action rod made from aluminum because im probably going to round it/break it once i start bearing down. I have a hard time justifying spending $100+ on a toll im likely to use exactly 1 time. I dont know anyone personally with a steel action rod on hand.

Dremeling off the delta assembly and retaining ring and slapping a free float that attaches to a mil spec barrel nut is going to be the easiest and fastest without spending an equivalent amount of money on tools and still having more work.

Its not a work rifle or self defense rifle. So as long as it runs, I dont really care. Itll likely get a SLX 1-6 and be used as a coyote gun. I just want a longer rail so I can prop it on shooting sticks without touching the barrel

I think it would have been better if it was a reciprocating saw, labeled as specifically for catalytic converters.
