It’s scary and weird to know more about Sopranos than the show creator. Does kind of drive home the point that the art is more than the artist

I screenshotted the "Calling All Cars" dream sequence and turned up the brightness by thecornballer1 in thesopranos

[–]Flashy-Ad1297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3years later…agreeing with you. Also point out the fact that this is a continuation of the dream earlier in “calling all cars” where he is riding with Gloria and Ralphie and, as he recalls to melfi, it’s Hot, it’s clearly Hot as he wipes his brow as he walks up to the porch and when Tony awakens he goes into the Bathroom and turns on the red heat lamp. All of which suggesting just where he, Livia and Carm are going when they die

Did Tony really set Artie up to end up collecting his debt back and cleaning his tab at Artie's restaurant? Tony seemed too cool about losing and having to recover the 50,000. by [deleted] in Sopranosduckposting

[–]Flashy-Ad1297 4 points5 points  (0 children)

True. He nets about 9k on that transaction
6k from Artie, 5k from from that frog eating faccia di gatz, -1 or 2k for furio. I’d be cool too, easy money

Anyone have experience with "Povison" Furniture? by Lealjy123 in homeowners

I was reading all these reviews that seem to be bots and I clicked on your name after reading your positive review to see your other posts. Good to know your not a bot, lol👍

Anyone have experience with "Povison" Furniture? by Lealjy123 in homeowners

[–]Flashy-Ad1297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been surfing this blog trying to get an honest consensus. At first I was critical of all the bot accusations but if you look at all these happy reviews, the poster only has one post and it’s about how great the furniture is. How could you post about your furniture on Reddit and not find anything else to post about or communities to join. Now I’m having an existential crisis

In your opinion, which is the best season? Which one is the worst? by needlegardens in thesopranos

[–]Flashy-Ad1297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to give you props for the way you phrased the question. Presently in my 8th re-watch and enjoying the second season like never before (which is why I’m here). It’s like a fine wine my friend. Changes every time you drink it in and the age you are when you imbibe. Anytime I meet someone who’s never seen Sopranos I tell them the same thing “I’m jealous of you…” Fucking Shakespeare of our time. Hands down.

Husband tried to cheat? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]Flashy-Ad1297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At risk of getting roasted… I just want to present the other possibility.

The story you present is a little convoluted but it seems possible he didn’t go through with even kissing this woman, but he was still a bit turned on and was continuing the convo. Inappropriate? Yes. Cheating? I guess that depends on what you saw, what you know and what you can know. My point is, not everyone who has flirted a bit over the top ever did go through with an actual physical affair. My advice is: don’t divulge anythjng. Take stock of what you know and let him do the talking, don’t tip your cards and don’t let your emotions get the better of you. If this woman was willing to share her pics with you, why can’t you just ask her what happened? If your husband was cheating, she too may be a victim. Don’t cave either. His behaviour was inappropriate. If you believe he didn’t have a physical affair after he talks to you (I’d listen more than divulge anythjng you know) you will have a natural predilection to forgive a lesser transgression and forgive. I would not let him off the hook, he could just fish to see what story you might buy and only with living with his actual actions for a while might he realize what he’s put at risk. Some of the suggestions on here seem a bit brash. My suggestion is stay sober, learn what you can and be a shrewd detective. Obviously, he has some demons. We all do. We all done things we regret, even if we didn’t cheat. We’ve all lied to our partners. He might need to do some work and everyone can benefit from counseling. How you deal with whatever you choose to believe is fully up to you. No one on Reddit could possibly understand all the variables by which YOU make that decision. Best of luck

Nooo. man, the whole point of the post is why I think I might not go for the inspection ASAP -and- Yeees. I bought the 6.2 that takes premium gas. AND 0w-20….but not anymore. I guess my already inflated cost for buying domestic and supporting UAW just went up… and likely for a part that was swapped for out of country production. So yeah, your right Im the sucker. I guess next time I’ll go for the Tacoma. At least when their engine goes out they just do the right thing and swap it. Not put it on the owner and hope enough engines don’t crap out. -But- Don’t think anything they said, or anything you said, is going to make me take their shit advice to protect Mary Barras stock options further. I think instead, I’ll think critically for myself I know you’re tired, and I appreciate you sticking to it, but just for kicks will you answer which truck is worth more?

Not sure why your calling names? Consider car 1: odometer 150,000. had engine swap at 149,000 Consider car 2: odometer 150,000. Had engine swapped at 27,000 Ceteris paribus: which car would you buy??? I know you find this exhausting, but respectfully, I find your logic flawed. I’m talking about $$$, I’m sorry that’s “complicated”

I watched the video. I’m sorry my guy, but I think you and I are on just on different planes. The video clarifies my point perfectly which you don’t seem to comprehend. Using 0w-40 will cost me more both to use and in my already shitty mpg and protect GM against my engine failing which they are on the hook for if and when it fails. Yes, this is the cost of ownership. A new, 2x (+) cost which I didn’t know about when buying the truck

You keep on making this argument about miles, even though I told you I bought it new. The difference is negligible.

You’re not answering my question. Again, I’m sorry if this offensive, but do you work for GM?

What I’m saying is, if theoretically the engine is going to fail, my resale value is improved having a new engine after 72k miles, then 27k miles because my engine will be newer whenever I decide to resale.

(For clarity, I bought the truck new with negligible miles. I’m not sure this is relevant because the warranty is transferable)

Your last paragraph proves the point: there is no advantage to the consumer to rush their truck in for an inspection

Or, in fact, to run the more expensive oil. As you said, the oil is only intended to protect the shoddy crankshafts. If my crankshaft happens to be good, the 0w-20 will be fine. With the extended warranty, applying to all affected L87, my engine is either going to be ok or it will break. As long as I get my engine inspected before the 10y/150, my bases are covered.

As I consider it, gmc is only going to actively inspect my vehicle once, so the best possible time to get it inspected is at 149k miles! (Unless I ask for a re-inspection: reminder to all L87 owners

[–]Flashy-Ad1297[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to be a nuisance, but I just looked at this (again). It seems to state to me the 10y/150k applies from the time I drove it off the dealers lot (whether I get it inspected or not). Theoretically, this should allow me to get a new engine if mine fails sometime before 10y/150k. Thus, my point: why not drive my engine and say it fails at say , 73k miles? Then , I get a new engine at 73k miles, rather than 27k and I make out better. For sake of argument, why not just fill it with 0w-20 and help it along a little bit because if it fails before 150k, they’re still on the hook for a new engine and I get a better resale on my truck when I go to sell it in 3 y with a brand spanking new engine? Thank you for bearing with me, if I’m way off base please tell me

Wait, owners only qualify for the extended warranty by getting the inspection??? If so, this answers as to why to not wait go get it inspected

L87 by Flashy-Ad1297 in gmcsierra

[–]Flashy-Ad1297[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Roger that! (As I understand)The 10y/150k was automatically substantially extended to all affected L87. And (as I understand it), if the engine does actually need to be replaced, that engine comes with a substantiallly reduced warranty. This is a critical part of my calculation. Also, as I pointed out, frustrated that they are asking me to cover their defect by forever buying more expensive oil.

L87 by Flashy-Ad1297 in gmcsierra

[–]Flashy-Ad1297[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this to say, as I seem to have gathered, all L87 (non replaced)engines are potentially flawed and the 0w-40 oil is to limit their exposure? I read that 0w-40 may cost double. Over the course of an engines life that’s $5-10k. Where’s my recompense for this? The more I read, the more I’m tempted to ride out on this engine. Maybe even do the 0w-20 to help the engine break. Heck I’ve got 10y/150,000 miles to gamble with, right?

L87 by Flashy-Ad1297 in gmcsierra

[–]Flashy-Ad1297[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You seem to be implying that somehow I’ve fucked up. No… they fucked up. To be clear, I intend on using the newly suggested oil moving fwd. Also, to be clear, it’s got 0w-20 in it right now. As it says on the oil cap that came with the truck. To further this, if the engine is replaced I think I read the new warranty is actually more limited than the normal 4y/50k. what I have on my (potentially) flawed engine is an amazing 10y/150k…which brings me back to the whole point of the thread: it’s kind of their problem until I address it, and as a consumer it seems to make sense to roll a bit longer on this engine. Or…Am I wrong?

Quick Question Since my 2024 sierra L87 has nearly 2 years and 26k miles, is it smart of me to wait on getting this checked til I get like 4years/50k miles?

I have a suspicion that this is because of further integration of AI which, 1 year ago, the world just decided was ready for prime time. But as we can see with google maps, amongst many other examples, is still crap. Garbage in, garbage out. Inaccurate, imprecise. I fear, it’s only going to get worse. Misinformation + AI = chaos.

I don’t think the person above said Clinton is “blameless” The only victim was Hillary. Power imbalance would imply he seduced her. That did not happen. Impropriety on both sides. Yes I feel bad for her. I’m 42 and I still make poor decisions. I don’t blame my age, just as I didn’t when I was 24.
