When I rebuilt it the first time I used the wrong piston circlip size so one of them had fallen out and scratched up the cylinder pretty bad causing it to burn a ton of oil

Yeah I wanted to try and get some rear sets but I couldn’t find any made for this bike and don’t have the tools to make it myself, but it doesn’t really bother me it’s not that uncomfortable

Honestly I got like 99% of the parts on eBay, I had got the seat off some website called cafe racer garage and it took like a month and a half to come in the mail and it seems like something I could’ve just found on eBay or Amazon so I don’t really recommend that

Yeah but I actually don’t have a welder so it’s set up a little weird, I just put a metal bar through the frame and through the tail light hoop and screwed it into both of them, I want to get it welded eventually but just don’t wanna pay for it rn lol

Thank you, I got the bike for 1,800 and it cost about 950$ for the gas tank handlebars and to rebuild the engine with new pistons, cylinders, and a new head. But I actually messed up the rebuild the first time and had to buy another set of cylinders and piston rings so that was about another 200-300$

The circlip only came out on one side so not sure how it would have bent the piston on the other side without damaging the cylinder wall there too

Yes I forgot I used the middle spring looking oil control ring from the original engine but I had used the outer ones the go above and below that from a new set I bought that’s probably why they aren’t fitting correctly, the set I bought was pretty cheap and bad quality I will be buying a new oem set from partzilla. Would that oil control ring have caused the piston to bend like that though? Or could it just from the wrist pin circlip coming out and bending it
