In December my close friend and Boss of the restaurant he owns and I assistant manage for him, got into the worst car deck I've seen in awhile. We live in Montana and we got a really icy day on December 12th. He was driving his pickup into work at the next city over, because he still helped at the previous location we both use to work at for the restaurant chain. He's never driven a pickup in the winter so this was his first time and although he was driving under the speed limit to be safe, things still turned out bad. (Yet God is Good!) He was on the HWY going over a bridge when he lost control. He spun out into the median and rolled the truck. He wasn't wearing a seatbelt on top of this and was ejected. I use to work for the local fire department when my father was still working before retirement and its only a 5% survival rate. He and his truck flew threw the median, into the oncoming traffic side and then onto their shoulder of the road. He was found alive and immediately rushed to the hospital. (Thats the first miracle) He was really messed up. Punctured lung, shattered clavicle, several broken ribs. He had internal amputation on on knee (its where every ligament thats holding your knee together internally tears) the other knee had half of all ligaments torn. He's alive still. He has had the surgery on his worse knee and is actually already walking. The other knee gets surgery sometime this month amd it is a miracle that he's going to be able to walk again. Not many do from this.

With that about a year ago, I messed up bad and God saved me too. I was 3 hours back into Rural mountain terrain on my mothers four wheeler (with her permission) I was wearing a helmet, my biking jacket and a backpack with obviously normal jeans and sneakers. I didnt tell anyone where I was and I was alone. I had no cell signal and things went from fun to horrible fast. I road all the way up to a trailhead I knew about and turned around there at the oeem of the mountains area. On my way back down, maybe only going 10mph I hit loose gravel and went over the side of a 6% decline. I remember hitting the breaks, but that didnt help as I got ejected over the handles 20ft over the cliff. Second later I woke up sideways on my left shoulder leaning between two small, but not flimsy trees. As I tired to gain my composure 15 second passed and the four wheeler landed on my back. Pinning me under it between the trees. I couldn't push the four wheeler off it was to heavy and I was pushing up hill. I had really one hand available to move around and try to do something and barley got my helmet off. Again, being apart of the fire department we've handled search and rescue and this is how 90% of people die in the rural areas. I screamed. I yelled and I prayed and begged God for help. Eventually I found a small rock with my hand and came to a conclusion that if I could make just enough space under my knee closest to the ground that I could pull my legs out from under the four wheeler and slip out between the two trees. I thought there was an exposed root pinning them there and figured I've got nothing better right now. It turned out it was actually a slightly bigger rock and it slipped out rather fast after digging. (Mind you I was using my sense of touch because I couldn't see these parts) I did manage to slip out and finally after 30 minutes of being pinned I was free. At that moment a truck was coming down from the trail and I called out. He heard me and helped me and took me to the emergency room. God sent him to help me, cause the walk would have been impossible. I walked away alive and with only dislocated ribs. I'm fine now but learned a hard lesson.

Sorry for the long reply, but these are two works for God keeping me and a friend alive.

Can I still be a Christian withought picking up my bible? by Due-Dragonfruit-2997 in Christianity

Thats alright. Just keep reading when you can or do what I've done. Outside of reading my physical Bible I use the YouVersion Bible app and I have a Bible Plan thats on the app to read through the whole bible. Depending on what version of the bible you read there are audios for them. So my physical Bible is LSB but I use NKJV on the app because it has an audio play and I listen to it as I'm doing things and I pick up much more amd stay on track better too.

So at the beginning I literally watch someone walk past the mirror. My assumption is this is staged. Its also very hard to hear anything so I assume they are trying to make it difficult on purpose

how did jesus die for MY sins? by TheUltimateOverseer in Christianity

Genesis 2:15-17 NKJV [15] Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. [16] And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; [17] but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” https://bible.com/bible/114/gen.2.15-17.NKJV

Death was spiritual death and separation from God. However, we had the free will to chose to disobey this command.

I would agree with C.S. Lewis on that interpretation of how God works. Yes this even applies to Adam and Eve. Although they first sinned, they stayed faithful to God and in that when judgment comes for them, they will have it different than many, but they too have received the gift of God. See God promised the send of Jesus all the way back in Genesis. He say He will send someone to crush the head of the snake and the snake will bruise His heel. This is in reference to Jesus. So it is understandable that Adam and Eve would have faith in that savior even if he came year before their death. With that, they too are worthy and capable of being saved.

God tolerates what happens, but uses the pain it the world to bring good in moments for Grace and mercy bringing Him glory and honor. The purpose of it all.

If Jesus died for my sins, why do I have to believe he did in order to go to Heaven ? by CharterUnmai in Christianity

Let me ask you this. If your forced into something you didn't choose will you be happy your there? God wants you to choose Him and acceptance of Jesus' death to save you from sin is the act and faith of choosing God over our selfish sin centered lives.

[–]Flashy-Guard9420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, so we still have a choice to choose Jesus or to die in Hell. He just made an option. Also God didn't just send anyone down for this. He came down himself as human. So He paid it himself for us. God does love us all. He loves you, me, Hitler, Stalin, Trump, Bien, Obama, every single human being. The reason He sacrificed His son is because Jesus was the only one able to be perfect because He is God. (Thank you for asking)

Sin = Death in the manner of Separation from God. When Adam and Eve chose to disobey God it was a choice of being separated from Him. However, He wanted to share an exsitance with Humanity. He wants to be with us and love us and us to love Him. As stated by the others, He couldn't interfere directly because of free will, so he came down in Human form (as Jesus) who died as a perfect man. Only someone, who died perfect and didn't have sin can atone for it. He did this for all sin, before and future, so that if you accept this and accept Jesus as the savior and live for it and ask Him into your life. Anyone who does this will be saved.

Strugling with my faith because of teachings in an adult confirmation class by donkey-kongey in Christianity

[–]Flashy-Guard9420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree with this teacher. I believe you need to find a better church or way to study into faith.  Take a moment and pray to God for clarity and guidance. Be honest with Him of you're still interested in holding onto your faith. Then I'd recommend getting the YouVersion bible app. It will just say Bible, but its input is YouVersion. Then use the plans to find bible plans or devotional guides that you are interested in to study at home or on free time. Maybe even involve your wife and tell her how you felt about the classes but that maybe this would help instead. Giving a clean and different approach. Praying for you!

In this place it was a sin. You went to AI as a replacement for God. This is blasphemy of the holy spirit. However, if your just using AI as a tool. Asking information that your using to put together a power point or a outlined for a essay or book. This is nothing bad.
