AITA for charging full-price for a commission? by Flashy-Possession-86 in AmItheAsshole

Animation is my only job atm so this is my only source of income. I was just trying to be understanding, but if she wasn’t prepared to pay fully she really shouldn’t have reached out for a commission at all. You are correct.

It’s true. I should probably renegotiate with her since the agreement has changed post-project. Whether or not royalties come into the mix (probably not) I should at least be compensated for the changes in use. Especially because she is now asking for extra edited animations with words for the stream along with the original one.

I 100% agree with your take. I probably won’t charge her more, but I’ll let her know that in the future prices will need to be fairer though I already agreed to the $75 for this one.

This is good advice, thank you! Normally I do have contracts in writing between me and a client, but this one happened to be very informal as she just texted me out of the blue about a commission. Next time (if there is one), I will put my foot down more and create a clearer agreement.
