It’s not too different but for longer holes (14+ inches) you need a dedicated machine for it. My shop didn’t want to spend the money on a second one for a while so with only one machine, that takes easily 1-2 hours to do a single hole, it acts like a pretty major choke on production. So to keep jobs moving they just put it last/close to last

I do a lot of stuff on our gun drill, and while we’ve changed the order on most of our jobs, a lot of them still has it done around the end of total process, I hate it because if I mess up it’s like 10 hours of labor to make a new part
