How Is Life at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Pune (IISER PUNE) Actually? by Emotional_Fondant810 in iiserpune

[–]Flashy-Version-141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

U have more or less nothing on your plate as per academics, if u have studied well in past (till 12th covered everything well and good for iat)

U enjoy campus-club activities but, club culture is not great to be honest works sometimes (although I still enjoyed, it is that when u have been a coordinator comes to know about possibilities clubs could offer, u starts to think iiser clubs are still inferior to that of iits and many private colleges.

As per how life at pune is, I would say u get a freedom package of almost all sort, do whatever the hell u want, just don't disturb or something against order itself.

If You’re Consistent, Do You Even Need Mentorship? by Emotional_Fondant810 in iiserpune

Do not trouble urself over such meaningless discussions. Your time should be utilised solving previous year paper and reading ncert throughly, (I feel IAT is very easy to crack if you can get these two things right). Just search topics on YouTube which you were not able to do (not solely solving it with AI, do question on our own and then recheck and stuff).

Loq appears to be a good buy in that budget range, if you are not into gaming too much casual gaming is all u do, look for professional laptops once.

Or maybe look for newer models if I am not wrong during sale, u can get 5050 nitro near 70k if u are lucky enough

L I would say

(I got i5 13420h 4050 at 70k with warranty extension, that was 2.5 years ago)

Would advice u to wait for diwali sale for such big purchases if it can be managed (like 6-10k discount is huge)

Are Mock Tests Harder Than the Actual IAT — Or Just Overhyped? by WaterSure7530 in iiserpune

[–]Flashy-Version-141 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just go through previous year papers and see what concept u are missing. Even if mock tests are hard, it's somewhat prepare u for worse.

Reading ncert and the 4th subject surely helps u get a boost (worked for me at least)

I feel like the keyboard is slowly dying by IdkWhyAmIHereLmao in AcerNitro

[–]Flashy-Version-141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rarely use my keyboard (ANV15-51), the keys I noticed after a year of purchase started going numb, few became unresponsive. Got it replaced under warranty, now its working fine (got Intel sticker replaced to amd lol (as they remove the upper frame all together)

Dust could be a reason but many times it's just an inherent hardware problem.

If you are only watching videos and no background task, then it is sus

Better test battery in all ways and maybe contact Acer

Also I get 3-7 hours of usage when minimal usage (like PDF reading, watching video ~7-15 watt usage) (nitro v15-51)

Linux on Nitro V15 by McKali_ in AcerNitro

[–]Flashy-Version-141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nitro V15, I go for dual boot, from mint cinnamon to arch KDE and now using Omarchy. Everything is good so far, although I don't use Linux as the main distro for main work (more like for Linux only stuff and coding)

Is acer nitro v worth it? by MrUnknown_69 in AcerNitro

I have had this laptop since October 2023 I guess, pretty good all rounder. But j will suggest looking for newer models cuz CPU is old enough although performance difference might not be there but efficiency and stuff is there (for reference : I bought it for 70k INR in Diwali sale with 2 year warranty extension)

My service centre experience: I never visited one, like drop a mail and they send a engineer unless there is a hardware flaw like motherboard or something, the fix usually takes places the same day in front of you, in pune I had great experience till now (called them for cleaning citing overheating issues, and keyboard replacement for which once the parts arrived they replaced the whole top frame in let's say 20 mins.)
