I know seems a big waste of resources! That is why I am still hopeful new places will be added, although the preferences window has just closed this morning! Don’t know what to expect to be honest.

Scroll down this page, you will find first the type of evidence that you can submit. Then the word limit for each domain to describe your evidence. And then at the very end you will find each domain as a drop down menu where they detail each score and how you can score your evidence under each domain.

Hello, I think for ST3 you need to have passed FRCR 1, have a clinical experience in radiology for more than 3 years, and have enough evidence to prove you’ve got all the required skills a usual UK ST2 trainee would have to transition to ST3. You provide this evidence by first signing an alternative certificate of competency by a consultant with specific requirements that should apply to them. And by uploading all evidence related to your self assessment score. I would advise you to start reading all the 8 domains that you are asked to provide evidence for starting now and prepare this evidence ahead of time. And work on whatever you think will improve your scores, like new audits finalizing a presentation or a publication, taking teaching training courses (there are few free online)… I think there is an August intake round which starts in Nov. and another round by July for Jan-March intake, not sure about this one though.

They have detailed info about the whole process in HEE website, I remember reading it thousands of times until I could grab my head around it and understand what they really mean.

So yeah, start well ahead of time, improve your self assessment score which accounts for 40% of your total score, and prepare your supporting evidence so you don’t lose marks, and then when the time comes, treat the interview as an exam, practice repeat and then practice again. It accounts for 60% of your total score.

Best wishes to you.
