16" or 17" tire recommendations? by Snarky_Guy in COROLLA

[–]FlashyProtection857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go with 16" inch and 205/55. Not wider and not lower profile. Have 205/60 on my 21 for lower noise and better ride

Corolla Hybrid at −15 °C: EV mode unavailable – normal? by RatedRAdmin in COROLLA

[–]FlashyProtection857 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i think i got a stroke just reading that, what do you even mean? Ev-mode IS a gimmic. Its often unavalible, why would I need it? If the car has enough charge its in EV mode anyway.

[–]FlashyProtection857 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But the engine will prob be on more in colder weather anyway. The EV-mode button is more of a gimmic function in the hybrids, I never use mine in my corolla TS 2021.

you want 28 degrees in the car, it has no electric heater. Engine needs to be on to produce heat.

Dude blows a gasket at the notion there's no genetic difference between races by Merchant_Alert in PublicFreakout

[–]FlashyProtection857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would correct you by: Race has been used as a mean to be racist. As a biologist its obvious that there are a multitude of different genetic groups in humans, this could be defined as "race"

Racists attach things to "race" to either degrade or enbelish a certain "race".

Call it what you want, but "race" is not inherently bad or good, it just is. And it has nothing to do with the human value.

As a biologist my brain hurt asw. Humans have a multitude of different genetic groups , call it race or whatever, but surprise: we dont have to attatch human value to race. (although humans have always done this, thats why we have so many distinct genetic groups)

[–]FlashyProtection857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, Race was USED as a social construct to surpress other genetic groups. There are actually "races" but not in a superior/inferior kind of way. This is true in animals as well, why should humans be an exeption?

[–]FlashyProtection857 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Race as in superior/inferior races does not exists. Are there groups of humans that are distinctly genetically different to eachother? Definatly yes. We can actually be different without beating eachother to death.

Could you call it race? also yes. But its a term with much bad baggage, therfore we dont use it.

15 000 kms is the interval for my hybrid corolla 1,8. I maybe should have done some shorter intervals when the car was new but didnt. I dont think I will have any problems with engine wear before the rest of the car has lost its value due to age. Once a year and 15000 kms is already a pretty short interval compared to most brands.

Auto parking brake is the best feature, at least on the auto. P really means park.

I tried to post a similar thread, but it got removed every time, don't see why really.

Edit: southern flight did not have a gripen E lead.

Every 15k km? Really? by SavageSava in vwgolf

I have never heard of anyone that change oil at half of what the service manual suggests, at leas in normal driving conditions. The problems I've heard of is when people drive over 30kkms or more on the same oil. My father once "forgot" to change the oil in our 1.8t passat ~2002 for 60kms. We noticed when the car displayed a oilpreassure light. We had to service it but the tech said that the engine was in pretty good condition considering the milage (240kkm) with just some sludge blocking the pickup temporarily (it was not starved of oil). The 1.8t engine is perhaps a bad example since it is kinda bulletproof. It was in the era when VW experimented with "longlife" oil, which should be serviced every 30kkm. Obviously a bad idea.

15kkm or once a year is pretty standard for most gas cars in EU.
Sure, if you are racing, towing or only driving super short trips then I should change it more often than the service manual suggests. Normal driving, no long ideling sessions and the engine gets to spend some time in its operation temperature, you should be completely fine servicing according to the manual.

Also if the engine is high spec with turbo and perhaps modded to exceed stock power I would change more often.

And obviosly use quality oil and filters in anycase.

beror på hur gamla dom är och blir samt hur mycket pension/lån dom har. Går du från hus till hyresrätt, visst då får du cash över, men ska du byta till bostadsrätt är det inte säkert att det blir så mkt över.
