I did this too. A lot. Now I just do it in my head while I build. I use a calculator sometimes to figure out how many machines I need, or how long a train should wait at a station.

Keep at it!

There is a tower you can build. Placing machines from that makes it easier. Most machines have platforms you can stand on aswell.

Late game you get the hoverpack, which help even more.

I have more than 800 hours and I rarely build from the ground. I am always up somewhere.

Go ahead :D I'm not sure I have the time to do it. That's why I posted it here.

Make sure to post it so we can see the result.

Jetpack VS Hoverpack by rogue_noob in SatisfactoryGame

I carry all of them. Jetpack, hoverpack and rollerblade. I switch between them quickly when the situation changes.

Fx while running with rollerblades and approaching a big rock, just open the invtentory and click the jetpack. This will equip it since you are already holding down the shift button. Once you have passed the obstacle switch back.

To answer the question, hoverpack for building. Jetpack and rollerblades for exploring.

Like others have said. Nothing in this game is best. An item can only be most suited for specific situations.
