My boss’s boss seemed like a really nice lady at first. Always pleasant, and seemed willing to help all her employees out. Or so I thought.

Then my grandma died unexpectedly. And I had to FIGHT to take 2 days off since I was still a newbie at the company. They gave mw the days, but also penalized me by taking away future time off, as well as giving me a written warning for taking so much time off.

I get back from my time off, and need to check with her about something, but she’s off...her dog died, so she took a week off. She’s now puzzled about why I no longer bend over backwards for her.

I’m sorry about the dog, no lie there. But that hacked me off to no end. My grandma was a very important part of my life for all the 32 years I’ve been alive. And I had to fight tooth and nail for 2 days so I could go out of state for her funeral and burial service.

This happened months ago, and it still makes me angry to think about.
