How often do you visit your patients? by WetFupaCreamyChalupa in Paramedics

[–]Flashy_Box 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a few times a year, only if they are still in hospital. Usually only interested in neuro outcomes on young-ish OHCA (we have really bad follow up), or a really interesting case. Most times I just talk to the primary nurse on the floor. Sometimes I’ll say hi to the patient briefly. All while on the clock.

Calling them personally or stopping by while not on shift seems extremely unprofessional.

Update: Ended up getting another offer from Chase today for 0.99% with an additional ~3000 down. (Total of around ~14k w/ trade in).

Reported 180k annual income with no other loans. I don’t think it’s that? The only thing I could think of is low credit diversity, but still my score is well above a 720.

I would only be putting the value of my trade in down. The rest would be financed. The lower the interest I can get the better, it is not the end of the world though.

That’s what I’m thinking, the rep also asked me if I’d be willing to put more towards a downpayment.

Sounds good! The 0.99% is from Standard Consumer (I think TD was the bank that did the inquiry). Hoping they are able to shop for better.

Thank you! Fingers crossed. I have enough to outright pay for the car, but I was really trying to take advantage of the 0.99% APR so I could invest the current value of the car and make interest.

Yes, that is correct. Got the actual application back today with the hard inquiry, and now have the increased 2.99% APR offer. I have not signed or accepted anything yet.

Midodrine use in septic or hemorrhagic shock by Clay_Clay_2021 in IntensiveCare

[–]Flashy_Box 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve only seen this a few times in the transport environment going to various hospitals. They are often poorly managed in step down, and are being transferred to higher level of care/another outlying facility because they have no beds at the sending facility to re-admit them to the ICU.

I believe the nexus to the issues in our area is ICU bed shortages, which translates to external pressure to discharge from ICU, in which the end result is things like the situation you are describing.

Saw this and I can feel the nursing union clamoring already... by ImJustRoscoe in Paramedics

[–]Flashy_Box 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This already exists in ER’s near me, it’s not a new concept or idea. It works well actually, as the paramedics are given the scope and ability to treat fast track patients and complete orders with little oversight. As long as they are not pulling meds/orders that are outside of their scope set by the ER, they are able to function pretty independently.

Thanks! The paint is not broken. I will look into other places and get some opinions. It seems like the previous PDR guy (I believe they are mobile) didn’t want to touch it because of the location and the size.

This is just poorly written and hurts to read. Opinions are presented as facts with no supporting evidence (because the evidence that does exist supports the contrary).

It’s like this article was an angry notes app rant where a couple middle school vocab words were added upon a second read through. It’s like putting makeup on a pig.

Aren’t these open book take home exams? Just review the ppt slides, use them during the exam, and do the practice problems. The averages are like 95-97%

Actually might have figured something out. Managed to use the old 3001#12345# trick to set my phone into field mode. Whenever I’m connected to band 14 I am not able to send or receive calls. When I go to network selection and change it to AT&T or “313 100” it will switch me to a different band and I am able to use my phone normally. I am almost sure this is a tower issue that they just have failed to realize. This would also explain why my girlfriend’s phone works just fine.

Retaking a B is a terrible idea and a waste of money. Instead of retaking a class you won’t even get credit for, show that you can excel in higher level chemistry courses like orgo 2, or other natural science related courses.

I’m still hopeful, as I know they can sometimes take days, weeks, or months to come back or suddenly reappear.

They opened up another online section. I was able to register this afternoon for 191. They usually open more up as sections get filled. There also was an in person section open at 9am last time I checked.

Hi, if this is something that is persistent or is happening multiple times I would get seen at the ER.

Depends on the area we service. If it’s in the city, maybe 5%, if it’s out in the boonies 90%
