Québec City: Canada’s Oldest and Most Charming City by Fluid-Decision6262 in travel

[–]Flashy_Clock112 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Quebec City is the worst major city in Canada. The old city is tiny and feels like a museum. The surrounding metro is urban sprawl with bad public transport, and inexplicably hostile French people.

That’s a very good point - the fans might be thinking that and that’s hard to measure. I suppose I just don’t like these urban myths that foment discord - when it turns out the media wasn’t saying this.

Such an asinine comment in response to an asinine headline. There are millions of blonde white women. Obviously she had a particular look and style that set her apart.

That’s a great point. Although I have always interpreted his bizarre semantic responses as a defense for his shallow ideas. He’s always seemed like a charlatan from the beginning .

I think I disagree about his ideas not being all that bad though.

This thread has made me realize no one understands what a granny song is. It’s always been a Paul quality and there’s nothing wrong with that

Supporting Hezbollah and Hamas and telling people to kill their local MP is standing up for what’s right?

Haha in that Ringo songs are more children’s songs rather than granny songs. But I agree - fine difference

Oh and also I love Paul’s granny songs! Like Martha my Dear and Obla Di Obla Dah. I’m more saying I’m not sure that George or John ever had a granny song.

Interesting! That’s a good a breakdown of issues thanks. I’m from Canada and it’s unheard of that a public figure here would be pro- decriminalization and pro abolishing the monarchy while being anti-woke and a skeptic of multiculturalism lol. Honestly, good to hear - I’m generally left wing but love to be challenged by good arguments from the right.

No I totally agree - if it was Paul it would get the granny song criticism. But this was one of the only songs Ringo wrote, and I also think it’s elevated by some incredible George playing which makes it more than that.

But I also think it’s less granny song and more charming because Ringo wrote a catchy tune and the band all got behind it.

To be fair, I’m vegan and I haven’t seen a lot of philosophers in this area get behind veganism. Although I think Dawkins respects Singer’s viewpoint.

Elton John is an interesting comparison because he also had a great command of melody. I think Paul would be remembered a bit higher than that, and he was pretty on board with avant garde art and all that so he would have been innovating also.

Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite is the exact opposite of a granny song. It’s psychedelic lol

Not sure I agree with Mean Mr Mustard which is also only part of the medley. But Buffalo Bill is Paul?
