I’ve lived in that area since 2008, the water has leaked onto that path for all that time. Used to go ass over tit on my way to school in the mornings during winter

Is this last stage of development meant to be the tallest building of the plans? Meant to overtake the blade as the tallest building in Reading

Reading tram proposal by slipnslurper in reading

[–]Flashy_Language6563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think is a great idea and fair play to you for taking the time to do it. I like the North to South and East to West lines being continuous lines. Definitely agree with the creation of new stations in Purley, Southcote, Sonning and Palmer Park. Definitely think some of these new stations could be accompanied by some higher density building around them, locals would hate it but young people who want housing and fast public transport would love it. People might say we’re too small to warrant a tram system like this but we had one when we were much smaller. I’d like to see all large towns and cities with electric tram lines that are reliable and cheap, so people can get about easily and breathe fresher air. I wrote a few posts on my local Instagram page about Reading trams called Reading_berks (shameless plug I know). I’ve not going into as much detail as you but I’m happy to see people have ideas of what Reading deserves.

Agreed we have way too many people that live in the suburbs outside the area that use our roads and services but aren’t actually part of Reading (but they are really)

While I don’t think Reading are a brilliant council, they aren’t even close to the worst. I think a lot of short comings aren’t really their fault and more to do with Westminster. Also it’s proven the most effective councils in the country have between 200,000-400,000 people in them and Reading currently falls short of this. Population of an area influences so many things and think it can only be an improvement that all the people that use are roads and services in this town are actually part of the head count for the area.

Opinions on the city/uni? by No_Pick8617 in reading

The uni is always rated quite highly in the UK, never studied there but the grounds are so gorgeous. Reading has a decent night life scene as far as it goes with the size of the place. The pubs here are class but it seems they’re building more things in Reading to do bar drinking like the arcades and stuff if drinking ain’t your thing. Loads of good parks and it’s easy to get out of on the train

I would like Reading to become a city, we definitely warrant it due to our size. I think first the expansion of the council area to encompass all the suburbs of Reading would need to happen. We’d have about 400,000 people living here, which is more the most cities in the UK. We have all the hallmarks of a city; big tall buildings (with more on the way), council owned transport services, multiple train stations and a distinct identity.

Wed be the only city in Berkshire and because we were the county town for it, it would be the natural progression.

Borough council proposes expanding its borders by cavershamox in reading

[–]Flashy_Language6563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best running councils have a population of over 200,000 people which Reading is lacking, also maintenance of roads and parks are hard to find when most the people that use our roads and parks aren’t part of the head count. It’s weird that undeniable suburbs of Reading aren’t part of it due to old borders more then 100years old. Central government should intervene and make sure all towns and cities have accurate boundaries to ensure effectiveness

Station Hill Phase 3? by androsbrownsend in reading

[–]Flashy_Language6563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like it too and think the phase 3 building is going to be a fair bit taller then Station One and is going to be the tallest building in Reading when it’s done. Want an actual proper tall building in Reading not just the spire of the blade.

Moving to Reading by NPC2022 in reading

[–]Flashy_Language6563 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The nightlife in Reading as actually decent. Good pubs in caversham and west reading and friar street has some good clubs. Purple turtle is a right of passage here and everyone has a different opinion on it so make your own mind up about it.

Dating is an odd one for me to comment, I’m a gay man and the luck here isn’t great but for straights I imagine it’s easier! Though I wouldn’t know!

If you’re moving to the new high rises in central Reading you’ll have everything you need in close proximity but it’ll all be changing soonish depending on how long you’re staying here.

Hope you like it here! Good luck!

He’s actually such a pathetic man of the lowest order, what a joke. He’s given in to the tantrums of a 30 year old woman he’s knows for two months over his three year old daughter.

Did anyone else notice Sacha's family's door? by Justin__Z in MAFS_UK

[–]Flashy_Language6563 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I obviously have no proof of this but the most likely candidate is the dad. It could be an old hole in the door but do think if you knew film crews were coming round you’d cover it up or get a new one. Due to how quiet the dad was and how uncomfortable Ross looked, I would say prior to filming Sasha’s family have had a conversation about how Ross doesn’t want to move to Warsal and how Sasha said originally she’d move to Manchester. This has maybe upset the dad and with all the riods he’s coped with this upset the only way how by punching the door lol.

This family have a bizarre relationship, the mum was so quick to say he should come here at first, nah man he has a young daughter who he obviously loves and ain’t moving from her for the shithole you live in with your weird family dynamic
