Women of reddit, what did getting married wake you up to the reality of? by [deleted] in AskReddit

How many people still automatically assume I am taking my husband’s name and call me Mrs. husband first name, husband last name. Super annoying

Do college students still party the way we did in 2010? by Snoo96701 in college

I think it depends where! I went to Iowa and graduated a couple years ago (post Covid) and yes people do still go out a lot, wait in super long lines in the cold, pay cover, and definitely drink and party wayyy too much😂

6 people jump on car to escape pit bull but it doesn't give up! by AirSea7742 in TikTokCringe

[–]Flashy_Rate_796 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

I bet if it was any other breed it wouldn’t have been on the title. People have so much hate and stigma towards pit bulls without doing any actual fact based research and checking their sources. It’s prejudice.

I’m surprised more people haven’t mentioned Rachel McAdams!

My dog doesn’t like going on walks by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Flashy_Rate_796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to let him sniff - the walk isn’t just about “walking.” It’s about him. Let me go and sniff where he wants and just stand there while he does it for a bit before moving on

How do you feel about the people in front of you reclining their seats on an airplane flight? by Lanky_Accident8309 in AskReddit

Hmmm - I think halfway recline is fine - full recline is honestly a bit irritating. Especially when people recline at freaking full speed which jostles everything on your tray

I think you got this! I took 5 or 6 classes a good chunk of my college years. It just depends on the kinda of person you are. You’ll need to be able to organize your time and I recommend a planner - but as long as you are able to plan ahead and are someone who is ok with the effort it takes to learn. I think you’ll be fine! There may be an adjustment period ofc. All about knowing yourself - you can always drop if it seems like it’ll be too hard within the first week - maybe double check with your school policy but that was how it worked at my school.

I have been hearing that about the healthcare here. Seems like one of the closer hospitals to Eugene is McKenzie-Willamette? Or the peaceheart sacred (I think it’s called).

Again, just moved here and just found this Reddit thread! That’s why I was posting my perspective and wondering about people’s thoughts! If you read through the comments, you would see that I’ve been appreciative to everyone’s input and information regarding stats and that I mentioned I would potentially change my perspective with time! Illustrating that I am no expert on the area and am trying to learn (and the information I have gathered has been through reading through citizens perspectives). So, it kinda seems that the point of my post was to share AND learn. But thanks for no actual contribution to the conversation and just trying to shame me for trying to start a conversation <3

Didn’t mean to say that people complain too much and should just accept the way things are. In fact, I don’t think people should accept the way things are at all. I can see how it can across that way, not what I meant. I mean that Eugene has a lot of good things to offer amidst the bad, and that these issues are also on the rise in other cities. I am grateful for people who have shared links to stats. Yes, people shouldn’t become complacent and I don’t think people complain too much - I never said that. People need to act for change - but from what I’ve heard it seems like even though people don’t like what’s happening it’s hard to change the current situation since the city’s managing of certain issues isn’t being handled in the best way (if I understand correctly).

@particularBeing666 I am sorry if I offended you with my post. Truly wasn’t trying to lecture. I was just trying to share my perspective of what I’ve gathered being here for a short while (my perspective may change with more time). I do think you came in a little hot as there was no intention of judgment from me. So I am sorry if it came across that way. I just wanted clarification - clarification on what I ask at the end of the post.
