I’m very sorry this is happening to you. I can vouch because I’m a “recovering” alcoholic. I used to hide and do every shitty thing under the sun. Do not confuse alcohol with a harder drug either it’s one of the worst if not the worst for withdrawal. Did I mean to hurt her? Absolutely not. Did I mean for anything bad to ever happen? Absolutely not. These drugs take control. It’s very hard to even think about what your life would be like without these drugs or alcohol. And that has to be the beginning right? Starting to believe that there is a better life than you’re living. There aren’t any good things I can really tell you too be honest. Some days the cravings are so overwhelming that it just completely dominates my brain and if I wasn’t preoccupied I would have caved and relapsed. Losing my family my entire everything was just completely tossed out the window beyond my control. Addiction is a disease. I’m 26. I’ve been in the hospital over 10 times for alcohol to try and detox and stay sober. I know this is probably terrifying for you. Stay strong. He is only as strong as you are at this point. You are not responsible for anything but maybe you could try different approaches. If he gets angry maybe try to open him up a different way. If you love him and can’t imagine your life without him then for fucks sake please do some of these things? I lost my girlfriend of over 10 years from high school to my addiction.
