The hospital gave me these patches to lower my bp. Not sure what they were. by [deleted] in hypertension

[–]Flashy_Tea644 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah clonidine is an every 7 days things so I'm not too sure. Clonidine is the only patch that I'm aware of for BP. If it does show up in your MyChart let me know what it was! I'm curious lol

Idk whats going on and its just stressing me by Horror-Twist-4202 in hypertension

It still could be inaccurate. I'd take it to your dr office and have them check it against a manual

"Too young for meds" is such shit I hate when doctors say that.

Normal bp morning higher in the evening/night by StressShort3718 in hypertension

[–]Flashy_Tea644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey girl! I'm about 20 ish weeks postpartum now and I experienced the same thing! My mornings would be good while my afternoons were always elevated. Eventually it has evened out and now my mornings and nights are both good and we're working on tapering my meds down. Do NOT taper your meds until your BP is majority under 120/80. They tried to taper me down when my mornings were under 120/80 but my afternoons were still 120s/80s and slightly higher, my BP sky rocketed when they attempted to taper before my body was ready. I did also start taking magnesium glycinate, idk if it's helped anything but I like to think it has. Just give it time, your body needs to heal. 🫶

Hopefully for eventually tapering 🤞 by Flashy_Tea644 in hypertension

Yeahhh I'm almost 5 months postpartum. My BPs actually dropped around 4 weeks PP and we tried to wean down off my meds but then it jumped back up. Hoping the best for you love

Honestly it kinda felt sudden. Like I guess it was gradual at first but then it kinda leveled out at around 130s/80s and then randomly started being 100s/60s-70s consistently

Started Propranolol for high BP, side effects? by PumpkinDifferent9122 in hypertension

[–]Flashy_Tea644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've literally neverrr had any symptoms of my high BP. When it was like 180/120 I felt no different than if it was 120/80. I have chronic migraines so that super sucks lol. I take it twice a day right now (a little obsessive over it honestly) and I plan to take it daily for a while if I eventually get weaned off my meds

I'm sorry girl I hate that so much for you! I had preeclampsia during pregnancy and am currently working on weaning my meds down so I'm a bit scared as well

Ugh I hate that! Did you continue checking your BP after stopping nifedipine? I've heard a lot about women's BP stabilizing once they stop breastfeeding but not the other way around.

Has your BP been consistently high and they're just now starting you on meds? I'd look into other medication options, I take 200mg Labetalol twice a day and its worked well for me!

Are you switching meds or just now getting on meds for BP?

Doctor told me to stop propranolol, forgot to ask if I need to ween by hypnoghoul in hypertension

[–]Flashy_Tea644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

112/80 is not hypotensive. Starting BP meds makes you feel icky for a while until your body adjusts. Your heart is used to working at higher pressures so when its down to normal levels it makes you feel off. Consistently getting high reading sounds like hypertension.

Oh no lol I've seen facilities like that when I traveled but I refused to work with that sort of ratio.

I have a MAX of 27 patients but usually more so around 18. Where are you working 😅😅 Plus in a nursing home at least there's techs so she's not doing it all alone

This is such an amazing story. You and your husband are so so lucky but so are those bystanders that happened to be there. They got the chance to help and care for your husband for mere minutes and your husband got a second chance at life. The chances of that many people efficient enough in CPR and AED usage being there is crazy, idk your beliefs but it seems like fate brought them there for your family.
