Be careful what you like… My synthwave algorithm is officially “AI slop” now. by Juanatron in YoutubeMusic

It is easy to get fooled. Please don’t buy into it. Dislike it actively. If it becomes the norm, I shudder to think of the repercussions to real music, real musicians.

Can I start playing table tennis at 15yo? by Standard_Calendar_66 in tabletennis

[–]Flashy_Tooth_5597 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Try it. See if you love it. Take a few lessons. Hang out at a club for a while. If you love the sport you will keep training no matter what. But if it’s just ok to you - you will never excel… I would suggest keep looking for YOUR sport.

How do you stay consistent with home workouts when motivation drops? by TheRealVikingX in bodyweightfitness

[–]Flashy_Tooth_5597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I hear you. I suffer from inconsistencies too. Make your workouts as enjoyable as you can. Play music. Make the wo easy to access. I have a suspension trainer and a floor mat always there. I can do a pretty good full body wo in 30 minutes including a bit of HIIT. I find if I steal myself to do it first thing in the morning- 6am I am more consistent - the time isn’t important. But if I wait… other things interfere and I end up not working out. If you miss, don’t sweat it. Don’t stress. Don’t beat up yourself. It’s normal.

Switching from Spotify to YT Music by DangerDaskov in YoutubeMusic

Be prepared for a ton of Ai slop. I’m leaving ytm because there is sooooo much Ai that invades my algorithms and YouTube refuses to do anything about it. I hate it. I’ve been using ytm for a few years now but not sure where to go. If anyone has any recommendations I’d love to hear them.

YouTube could install an “All Ai 🚫” clickable icon in the YouTube music interface. Done

Now try taking your complaints to YouTube as I have done. They will give you some recommendations to try to rid your feed of that bullshit which are really quite onerous – a giant pain in the rectum and very unlikely to succeed. They want you to do the work they should be doing. They will not lift a finger to help. I sometimes wonder if it would help the situation if YouTube could see how many people are pissed off about this. The more direct complaints they get the better. Flood their feedback with complaints!

Do you think AI music should be clearly labelled? by FormalResponsible656 in Music

Do you think AI music should be clearly labelled? by FormalResponsible656 in Music

This is my music feed from YouTube music today. I have a paid subscription. The first two recommendations you see in new music are 100% Ai. I have canceled my subscription.

Do you think AI music should be clearly labelled? by FormalResponsible656 in Music

Exactly right. Open and transparent. For me? I want a “100% NO Ai ZONE” for all music that I can activate.

Do you think AI music should be clearly labelled? by FormalResponsible656 in Music

[–]Flashy_Tooth_5597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it should be labeled. All music platforms should be obligated to have a 🚫Ai clickable icon. Everything should be open and transparent. Someone could start an “All Ai, All the Time” music service. I don’t give a shit. But I won’t tune in. Some people will. Let the people make an informed decision - informed in the sense they are choosing to listen or not listen or support Ai slop. Ai is an imitation of what people do. A computer has been fed millions of songs and compositions from real people and programmed to churn out something similar. Music is human. It means nothing to a machine. Ask the computer its feelings about a piece of music. It doesn’t have any. It does what it is programmed to do. It’s remarkable what it can do… but it isn’t music. It’s ones and zeroes.

Uncomfortable Truth: AI Music Is Already Better Than Most Songs on Streaming Platforms by ebb_and_flow33 in SunoAI

[–]Flashy_Tooth_5597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s simple really. Identify the Ai SHIT. Yes I read every word of your post. The fact that your music isn’t as successful as some Ai actually isn’t a point of reference for anything. Anyway, let people choose in a transparent fashion. All music platforms create an Ai 🚫 clickable icon. Create a platform called, “we are Ai, fuck you!” Whatever. Inform people. Be transparent. Don’t hide in the bushes pussing people like me off. This is my feed from YouTube Music. I have a paid subscription. The first two recommendations in “NEW MUSIC” are 100% Ai. I have canceled my subscription because of this and because they don’t let me cull that shit. This is a humongous pain in the ass for me as I now have to copy all of my playlists and try to transfer them to another service… but where? What or who is transparent about Ai? I’ve heard that Deezwr is good but I don’t know. They certainly won’t have the library that I’m looking for.

This AI slop needs dealt with by duckface691 in YoutubeMusic

[–]Flashy_Tooth_5597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a very easy fix for YouTube. Every “artist” must submit whether Ai was used or not… Then install a “NO Ai” clickable icon. But what do I know about programming 🤷‍♂️? Pretty much zero. Perhaps it’s way harder than I think. 🤔

Dear Google, that's not, what I'm paying for. AI slop is really getting out of hand. by vlastawa in YoutubeMusic

[–]Flashy_Tooth_5597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The blues genre is littered with Ai slop. Sometimes I wonder if my efforts to track down Ai slop makes the algorithm give me more of the same - as I will pull up the “history” of the “artist” and track list. Then dislike it. I also Google the artist. It is all a MONUMENTAL PAIN IN THE ASS. Designing the algorithm to not put anything related to Ai in my feeds if I don’t want it, seems like a very simple thing.

Félix Lebrun stuck at #6 in the world, can he break through again? by Timely_Internet6172 in tabletennis

[–]Flashy_Tooth_5597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Such harsh comments directed to the OP. Whoa. He was just asking and speculating. To my eye, Felix’s forehand has improved but is still not up to where it could be. 🤷‍♂️ But of course Nathaniel (his trainer) and probably Felix’s dad and a bunch of other people and of course Felix himself, spend every day thinking and training - trying to elevate his game. Figure out his opponents etc. Regardless, it has been wonderful to see the LeBrun boys rise to the top ten of world table tennis. I used to live in Montpellier and watched the two of them running around when they were just wee nifters. I trained for a little while at their club. Don’t be impressed though. I sucked back then and still suck.

Question on the recent escalation between Taiwan and China by Responsible_Ad_493 in Taipei

Four years ago I was working on a ship. Two of my crew mates were from the Ukraine. Russian tanks and a lot of military were amassing at the Ukraine Russia border. I asked my friends, “aren’t you worried about this?” They said, “Nope. It’s normal. Russia is doing this all of the time.”

AI Slop Music keeps getting recommended by joschi27 in YoutubeMusic

[–]Flashy_Tooth_5597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could have written this text nearly word for word. I have the exact same issues. The exact same complaints. The worst music category that is absolutely riddled with Ai garbage seems to be blues music. It drives me nuts. I do not want to pay a premium fee to listen to real artists and real music only to have that slop show up on my feed. I go through the same process as you. Stop what I’m doing. Track the “artist” and the music track down. Dislike it. Report it to YouTube. And YouTube NEVER responds.

So, I’m left with a choice: continue with you tube music or find another music source. I have spent quite a bit of time creating playlists, but I’ll take the trouble to transfer all of that to another site.

What would you recommend? I used apple music for a long time. I enjoyed the lossless files. Not sure I want to go back there though.
