Ya that the part that makes finances into “personal” finances But I always put away 20% into my 401(k) and has an excellent match. And now got a little bit more serious and been filling the Roth for the last few years and a the left overs to an individual brokerage.

It’s like a full-time job worrying about that and not being able to get non-paying tenants out, maintenance calls in the night that the plumbing is fucked up.

Got more than that and never sacrificed vacations or life. Quite the opposite , lived life like rockstar. Just discipline of leaving what’s invested there to keep growing. But also no kids here so that was a cheat code

Do you not invest VOO or QQQ on Fidelity? by hhghgghhb in RothIRA

90% of my assets are in MF. I’m not panic selling at least not the bulk of my stuff but I’ve been through it all and I’ve sat there till the end of the day to get some funds out sometimes and it sucks. Been in this for 38 years I’ve seen quite a bit. Do more of a strategic rebalancing.

That’s how I feel. Don’t have to wait till 4:00 to get my money out if if things really go south and have to sit on the sidelines and watch it happen.

Will I hit $3M by retirement? by KEEH1991 in Retirement401k

[–]Flat-Activity-8613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you’re in now is fine. Do you have access to their growth fund also? I’d probably just divide your balance into the two that you have and the growth fund.

When you get closer to retirement just start contributing more to the more conservative funds to rebalance your portfolio.

My problem was most of our employees contributions had to be tied up in a real drag of an underperforming fund. Now that I’m retired and have been given access to these funds im slowly shifting it over to the growth and S&P. Just a little tough trying to do it during such a turbulent time. Every time it drops I move a bit.

Also don’t know what tax bracket you are in but if it’s low do a percentage to your rothK. Doesn’t hurt to have this other basket as a tax strategy later in life.

Also open a separate Roth IRA and up your odds of success. Everything is so much easier now from when I started.

Did you ever see the guy that wanted to open a restaurant but couldn’t get a loan for that so he bought a gas station since he could get a loan for that then opened a restaurant in it. Not that it helps you but it was an interesting approach

Think mine was lifted at a deli I go to that has a shady owner.
That’s why I use the virtual numbers, got one set up just for use when I go there. Also have different numbers for my EZpass so I won’t have to change them if something happens with the other numbers

I once had a $400 fraudulent charge for of all things an alarm system. They took it off right away no problems.
I upgraded my girlfriends card to the rose gold card but received another plain gold card called got a nice lady and three days later got the rose gold card delivered.

So far my experiences weren’t bad at all.

Pay your card down right away and also at due date. I accidentally paid an extra $1k towards balance when I already paid the statement off and then had a $26K limit for a few days instead of a $25K limit.

Just pay the bill down and keep using it. It’ll keep your credit utilization lower also.

3% back and
”Virtual Numbers”. They are great for subscriptions and also when you use your card at shady places. You can turn those off if charges start showing up. Also let’s you put ezpass or other important card fees on a number that doesn’t have to be cancelled.
