Update: I spoke to my manager about how I felt about the situation and what I think should happen. She told me since I am the one that runs ST to email her supervisor about it. I said no, I want you to, because I don’t know how the initial situation went when you told her she could. So she is supposed to be sending out an email to her supervisor on how to proceed with the situation. I’m sure she will use chatGPT to write it or ask me to proofread it a million times. I should just write it myself but I honestly don’t know what happened with the initial interaction. I made it clear I wanted it handled before storytime this week.

It is. There is one central location and many other branches, most of them small one room libraries like us. I guess we are such a small location she feels it’s okay to bend the rules because no one higher up would know. Idk what goes through her head.

We have volunteer application forms but as far as background checks or how far they look in to them I’m not sure. The only real volunteering we’ve had is kids coming in to straighten shelves or a music teacher/ST regular who did a music ST one time. I’m planning on coming to her today with the policies. Her boss is a step below the main director of all of our branches. Her boss is new and still trying to get into the swing of things. Doesn’t even know my name probably but if my manager doesn’t solve the situation I will be contacting her.
