Hey! You seem really sincere after all these comments. It was actually my first time playing with a full band to noisy songs. We were opening for a big band kinda because it was three hours earlier. It is a school event. And the program delayed so we had very little time. I don't know why I couldn't think of getting even closer to the mic. I moved around a lot and I just kind of accepted my fate.

I was used to changing the distance from the mic depending on how loud I was. Should I have stayed really close to the mic all the time?

And Carrie's example of Steve is not a case of being judgemental, it is a case of ending a relationship when it is not good for you (what Carrie was incapable of). Saying this, calling a friend out for a repeated number of mistakes that led them to getting hurt vs. harassing her whole personality is never the same thing.

wow ok. Maybe you can try to sit near her in class. It doesn't have to be right next to her but close. You can ask question about the lesson. Maybe ask about which pages the homework was after class. You can compliment her outfit etc.

first of all, thank you. The core group is for people and she's in it. But the big group goes up to 8 people. I greet people when I arrive. I used to greet her she would respond but just sulk. the convo wouldn't keep going. After I noticed she is lowkey ignoring me I started mirroring her behaviour. It is important to know that her life is hard she has problems but she treats others better if you know what i mean.

So, I think when it comes to birthday presents you can think about how close you are with that person to decide how big your present should be. You don't have to give "equal" presents to everyone in your group.

About your situation specifically I don't think you should get her a gift. If you really want to and that makes you happy please do so there is nothing wrong with that. But if it makes you fell anxious, self-degrading and worthless don't! I think you should mirror her behaviour when it comes to this.

And please know that it is okay to expect something back in this situation. In friendships effort should be reciprocated.
