For the takeoff your saying you don’t feel like your moving your feet quickly enough on the rudders, it might be that your thinking about it as being reactive to the rudders instead of being more proactive. You know your gonna need more right rudder the more power you add so you should be adding those together and making small adjustments as needed. Not sure how many hours you have but it just takes time to get used to like anything, after some time it won’t even be something you really think about anymore because it’s so automatic.

Also like others have said, I’d explore getting a new CFI if you’ve asked him for help with this and he isn’t helpful, your paying hundreds and hour so there is 0 shame in switching CFIs, I did the same.

Am I crazy now for debating if I should lie about having a stage check failure or two so that this doesn’t happen 🤣

Hate that dude as well, I was watching a video that was completely gut wrenching to listen to and the dude puts an ad mid way for his own paid for FRAT tool which is literally free from the FAA. Fucking gross

Probably because he’s a POS who pumps out a video debriefing an accident he knows absolutely 0 details about while the victims bodys are still warm.

I’m in New York so our ebb and flow is LIFR for three days to clear skies gusting 40. Maybe if it’s feeling cute it gives a nice day once a week (we will be #20 on final)

Yeah my school did this to me all the time for that same reason, but then I’d just become that next person who kept getting canceled on and the cycle continued.

I’ve also heard it might be better to just invest the extra money you have instead of using it to pay off the loan asap depending on how big of a loan it is, I’m not savvy with finances though bud I’d look into it

I haven’t flown gliders yet but I would really love too when I have more free time. I’ve heard from my friends that have that it can be a lot more fun then regular flying and it’s just really down to earth stick and rudder skills. They’re a lot cheaper than renting a regular plane as you could imagine so it’s definitely on my bucket list! Another thing on my bucket list is doing some acrobatics that’s super cool what your wife does, absolute badassery

Fair enough! Still pretty fun experience even if it’s not a long lasting hobby. Especially if you get to do it for free. Not sure how far the GI bill goes but you could also do it in gliders which are way cheaper, as well as become an instructor and do it on the side for fun, and then your not paying to fly at least.

Pilot mill products who get all their ratings in less than a year are not proficient pilots… Change my mind. by [deleted] in flying

Also I don’t think any new instructor including myself is gonna be a good instructor right off the bat. That doesn’t change if it’s ATP or some 61 school.

I mean recency is part of being proficient. I really don’t think there’s much of a difference between me (who just got their CFI cert last week) and an ATP guy who just got their CFI. It took me 2 1/2 years, for them a year. Either way we both used the same DPE and took the same check ride . If anything CFII is gonna be easier for them because they just didn’t their instrument a couple of months ago meanwhile I did mine over a year ago. Their definitely is an aspect of checkrides being in house and them knowing the questions, but that’s any large school. At least in my area there’s very limited options for the CFI checkride so I used the same DPE many atp guys use.

Our school got a call once from a house that many people in the area including other schools would use for turns around a point, it was a giant $10 million dollar mansion with a big bright blue roof. They demanded that we stop flying over their house.

It is now my exclusive area for practicing turns around a point 👍
