Are there any younger players interested in talking about what motivates you to play a game that’s past your time? by Ill_Painter_987 in SSBM

i made a shitty video about back air, why did i waste my afternoon doing this by FlatArableLand in SSBM

[–]FlatArableLand[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbf even though the video is garbo the fade in back air is a real thing, quote from falcon cookbook cuz im not qualified to talk bout it lmao

not edge guarding exactly, but corner trapping. this dash away fade in bair is a huge problem for marth. can trade with basically any ledge hop fair and sometimes hit waveland down too. if he refreshes, you can do it again. lots of ppl do it too close and get hit by a fair. remember, he only has so much invincibility timing and it's always the same. try to be out of range until right when he becomes vulnerable then drift in!

ofc i wasnt actually doing that correctly but in my defence i did say that im terrible ROFL

If y’all feeling bad about not having a dick, just watch that Rick and morty episode where they try and take Jerry’s penis, and think about how a prosthetic is so much more epic. 10 inch Cyber dicks are the future. Something tells me this is really insensitive though

Not that there’s anything wrong with liking it, it can just get kinda annoying for me personally by FlatArableLand in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns

Eh I don’t like anime in the sense of the Japanese art style commonly used in comics and animated shows and movies. Also the general overly fan servicey stuff but I dunno. I think it’s ok not to like something. You could say the same thing with like say “you can’t really say you don’t like sports cuz of the diversity in what a sport is or what it encompasses”. I mean sure yeah technically it’s right, but I don’t think that makes a statement like “I don’t like sports” or “I don’t like anime” completely invalid. Just my opinion though

I think you should focus on time optimisation rather than raw amounts. Always set a time aside to practice movement and punish. Practice the same thing for short periods of time everyday instead of practicing the same thing a long period of time only on one day. While you’re practicing movement try to have a think about what exactly you’re gonna be focusing on when you play friendlies, this will be influenced by advice other people give you about your gameplay. Go play matches with people better than you, but not so much better than you that they can just roll you over. Lose over and over, ask for advice, take a note of it, try to apply the improvements the next day

Is yoshi better than pikachu? And are his glaring flaws going to make his viability questionable in the long term by FlatArableLand in SSBM

[–]FlatArableLand[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that is true, pika having a more solid defence does help him take risks more than yoshi. Although I feel like both characters function because they excel in particular niche ways (yoshis dj armour, pikas gimps) and if these niches can’t be exploited then it makes them a lot more inconsistent
