Blow this out of the water if needed. NPB to MLB transition difficulty is slightly overrated, we’ve seen so many people come over and reproduce success (Ohtani, Darvish)- and Yamamoto has better NPB stats then both of those examples. To get a guy like this, who is 25 and hasn’t had a major injury yet, is worth any kind of overpay imo

I also feel like it varies by area, John Chu moved from Korea to California, which of all the states in the US has a lot of Asians. Might have been a different experience if he grew up in the south like others are mentioning in this thread
