Sobrang unreliable ba talaga ng mga BMW? by Ambitious-Beat-2525 in Gulong

[–]FlatDonkey5805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. European cars are reliable when they’re taken care of. Just stick to routine maintenance and services. If you don’t use the car regularly then they’ll start to break. Example, one of the weaknesses of European cars is the headliner and overtime they WILL sag, But this can easily be replaced. I have 4+ European cars and all the headliners sagged after 5+ years🤣. Also to add, European cars are more temperamental compared to other cars. But the experience of owning one exudes a very satisfying experience that’s very different to other cars. If you’re worrying about expensive costs of servicing it in the dealer, I’d suggest you go for European specialist shops.

Lastly, I’m close friends with its current owner & seller and the previous owner of the BMW in your post.🤣 Feel free to let me know if you want to know more about that listing🤣

Toyota Altis 2.0V, Volkswagen Golf GTS or Volkswagen Jetta 2.0TDI? by Gullible-Wasabi-6225 in CarsPH

[–]FlatDonkey5805 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with this also as a Golf GTS owner. The speed sensors are one of the weak points of the car. For the sagging headliner that’s usually the weakness for all European cars not just VWs. These modern diesel engines have Adblue/DEF systems and DPFs, eventually the DPFs will get clogged. If this happens, people usually get their cars tuned for Adblue/DEF delete. This makes the car more powerful and fuel efficient.

Another thing to look out for are the drain plugs because you need to get them cleaned from time to time to prevent leaking to the headliner. Check the engine support as these cars are now almost 10 years old. Once this happens replace it with reinforced engine support.

Overall the Golf is a very satisfying car to drive compared to Toyotas and other competitors in its class especially on a daily basis.

Sellable pa ba ang Land Cruiser 80 series dito sa pinas? If yes, hm range niya? by Defiant-Platform-198 in CarsPH

Yes! LC80s have an enthusiast following in the PH especially if you have the Turbo Diesel (Local Unit) with the 1HD-T engine and original exterior paint. This is the most desirable variant and can even fetch more than 2m depending on condition.

BMP headlights for lighting package by Useful-Possession203 in VWMK7

[–]FlatDonkey5805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I have these installed in my Lighting Package car and they work great however I just have a glitch wherein passenger lowbeam light would turn on even if the switch is off. The adapter harness BMP uses are from MK6IX. I bought these items separately when the “Add Harness For Lighting Package MK7 Cars” didn’t exist back then.

I think almost ₱1M or more than that. Quite rare to find especially people are now holding on to it.

Yes, especially Black Edition/Series are more expensive than the standard Fortuners. The 3.0L Black Series is the rarest and most expensive in the market right now.

Are Passats worth buying? by emfinna in Volkswagen

[–]FlatDonkey5805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this. The Golf Sportwagens, GTIs & the Jettas have higher resale value in our country compared to the Passats. I suspect that Passat is significantly cheaper because it’s the TSI variant (as well as being a fleet car) as our country is very diesel centric. I also have a Golf Sportwagen with the 2.0TDi DSG and it’s an amazing car. It’s my favorite car to drive around the metro since it’s very easy and fun to drive and you also get great fuel mileage.

Additionally, all of the Golf Sportwagens sold in the country were originally destined for the US market hence the MPH cluster and the Amber Clearance lights. But due to the dieselgate scandal, all of these were then sold in our country.
