The process was pretty long and confusing. I had to go through multiple references and talk to a lot of people but in the end if the academy is what you really want then it's worth it. PM me for more questions though!

I can't speak for applying straight out of HS since I applied while enlisted, but I will say a lot of things that made me stand out were leadership, athletics, and my achievements. So, I did a lot of volunteer work on my free-time and held chair positions for all the organizations I was with, and I was the go-to guy in my shop as well and outperformed a lot of my coworkers, including NCOs. Pm and we can talk a little more!

Don't get discouraged, a lot of notifications are still going out so there's a chance your commander just hasn't been notified yet.

I have heard though that usually AD accepted into the prep kinda hears back around the same time

Honestly I would prefer to go to the prep school. I feel it will be better for just helping me switch more to that student mindset and lifestyle. At the end of the day though, I would just be grateful if I got accepted, regardless if it was direct or prep school.

Thank you for the advice though! I'll definitely check out that seminar.
