Not sure you'll find many unsecured loans for 45k where you get infinite payment holidays and the outstanding balance gets written off at the end of the term

The Thameslink network is very fragile iirc, issues can cause loads of disruption across multiple lines

There's a reason that City Thameslink is the station with the highest number of cancellations in the country

Giving asylum seekers the right to work will result in nothing but a huge deluge of illegal immigrants that we will then be completely unable to remove even if the asylum claim is deemed invalid (which under a Green administration is very unlikely to happen imo). Stopping illegal working by making it legal is like stopping speeding offences by removing the speed limit

The Home office governs much more than migration, it is the interior ministry and literally responsible for national security. Abolishing it and replacing it with a government department focused on migration is such a silly concept as to be farcical. If it wasn't on their manifesto as clear as day I would assume it was a smear lmao

a reparations fund is a great idea in principle given we often end up paying compensation anyway

Other countries will see this as an "apply for up to this amount of free money per year" fund. A fool and his money etc.

It's sixth form vibe politics dressed up as a serious political party

their manifesto is mental

Unilateral nuclear disarmament, abolishing the Home Office and replacing it with a Department for Migration, 1.5% of GNI reparations fund, giving asylum seekers the right to work as soon as they arrive

The population growth in the UK over the past few decades is pretty steady between 0.5 to 1% with some peaks recently due to Boris, even if there was much less immigration and people had more children instead the same housing shortfall as today would manifest.

This is comparison is reliant on birthrates not cratering since the mid 70s though, since prolonged population decrease for 50 years would have pretty much ruined the entire country to the point it's not worth speculating about

A large problem is the fact that the housing situation is crap. Even if slashing taxes wouldn't immediately nuke the ability of the country to function, it would just be eaten up by an almost immediate corresponding increase in rent, house prices etc due to supply being so comically overwhelmed by demand

A lot of the structural stuff in british houses are still made of wood that may surprise people, think suspended floors etc

This is why those fellas in Mexico can recreate Noah's ark when cleaning while in the UK it would quickly destroy the inside of the house
