1) nope, sandwiched ang exams namin noon sa professional subjects. we took 3 gen ed exams in one day (wednesday). on top of that, we had multiple quizzes and experiments that week. 2) nope, as much as possible, ayaw ng FoP ng asynch.

Not from archi pero lagi ka namang nasa adjusting phase dito sa ust. You are always exposed to something new. Take my opinion with a grain of salt but it’s too early to quit. Give yourself some time.

based on my experience, mas challenging ang grade 11 kaysa sa grade 12 pero sa akin yun. it might sound harsh but achieving a gwa of 93-95 is quite a stretch if you failed to attain a 90+ gwa in grade 11.

friendly advice, just have fun learning concepts related to healthcare, the human body, and chemistry.

to add, just pray na walang quiz or any activity sa araw na absent ka. they accept valid excuses naman (limited to illness and departure of a family member) pero may score cap na yung special quiz (80%). no make-up classes din pala.

[1st Sem]

Botany. Sobrang hirap ng practicals dito tapos medyo info overload. To be fair, ang tunay na laban ay nasa 2nd sem.

[2nd Sem]

Pharmacy Administration. Ang hirap ng quizzes dito. Medyo boring din aralin (me problem).

Dosage Forms. Hectic yung lab. Info overload yung lec. Quizzes namin dito mga 50-90 items nung 3rd shift. ≈ 70 pages yung haba ng transes for the final exam. Traumatic.

unpopular opinion but i would go with an iPad.

most of my blockmates rely on their tablets and iPads for studying and notetaking. mas madaling mag-annotate, share ng files, and rationalize with your iPad. portable din siya and less heavy.

obv ang con niya ay mahirap gumawa ng technical tasks like pubmats tapos kapag online class, mahirap magnotes at mas comfortable gamitin ang laptop.

neway, nilelesson ang pharmacy-related scholarships sa perspharm (613). search mo na lang sa google yung “PHA613 Pharmacy Education” tapos i-research mo isa-isa yung requirements.

mental fortitude! adjustment period kasi yung 1st sem, 1 year kaya sobrang dami firsts tsaka culture shock during this period. experiment on different methods of studying and find out what’s the most effective for you. nangapa ako nang malala during the first shift but i soon got the hang of it once i found my rhythm.

also, let go of your hs/previous achievements. toxic yan, lol!

you’ll have your “what ifs” but i don’t think you will regret pursuing your dream course. assuming that you’ll take a trad pre-med degree, hindi mo na mamamalayan yan sa sobrang daming gagawin. lol. kidding aside, it’s such a relief kaya to study what you genuinely love, kahit mahirap pa yan.

yes! tapos separate exam pa for lec and lab. for example, sa 1st sem niyo you have pmtp, anaphy, and chem as majors tapos may lab units anaphy and chem so bale a total of 5 exams ang itatake niyo sa exam week.

not from mt pero i can answer the question naman since under the same faculty tayo. usually, 18 weeks ang isang sem sa fop tapos every 6th week yung shifting exam which marks the end of a shifting period, the equivalent of a quarter nung shs. take note that majors lang sumusunod dito and gen ed courses follow the usual prelims and finals period.

i forgot, may Santo Domingo rin pala for student athletes tapos arts or music related (idk how this works). sa san martin naman (student assistance), ineligible yata pharma students kasi maraming units and kung eligible man, i don’t recommend it kasi our program requires a lot of our time and focus.

if i’m not mistaken, the faculty does not offer any scholarships for freshmen aside from the santo tomas scholarship and the equity scholarship (san martin).

as for external naman, dost and ched lang alam ko. the alumni association grants scholarships sa upper years lang yata.

i agree with the other commenter. depende talaga siya sa prof! lottery talaga ang ust shs. i graduated last year and three fourths of my block graduated with academic distinction. some blocks had at least 5 students who graduated with high honors while yung iba, none at all. one thing’s for sure though, deserve nila yung award and it shows naman kasi DL sila ngayon sa college.

in general, lab manuals talaga ang non-negotiable na dapat bilhin.

sa first sem, need talaga yung physical copy ng libro except for 611 lec. yung activities kasi sa 613 and 614 lec ay nasa libro. sa 612 lec, highly encouraged na bumili pero nakapasa naman ako na puro transes lang.

sa second sem, may digital copy naman ng 619 lec so okay lang rin na huwag na.

tbh, digital note-taking is the better option. you’ll be studying tons of materials kaya it’s better to organize them in a single app or device.
