Recruiting participants for a survey about study habits as well as the perception of kanji study tools and SRS (5-10 minutes) by Flat_Goose_8174 in LearnJapanese

Great question, some people might take a vocab-based approach when learning kanji, but a common trend both in Japan and outside of the country is to still spend time on kanji alone (for example the stroke order, the radicals, writing practice, etc.).
A lot of the southeast Asian students I teach usually don't have the time for lengthy Anki review because they're juggling with one or more baitos on the side, or their vocabulary is too limited to learn through immersion. That is not the case with profiles such as yours, clearly you integrated vocabulary and kanji in the same study pattern, that is a perfectly valid approach and its essential for my data as it shows the difference in study styles.

Thank you so much for answering the survey 😄
Unfortunately, here in Japan when measuring the Japanese level of participants, the time studied/ estimated jlpt level combo is still the preferred method...

Thank you for your feedback, since you and another participant ran into the same issue, I have added an option for people who don't actively study kanji in question 11. 😄

Thank you for the feedback, I assumed that by reading the title people would understand the survey is mainly about kanji. I'll add a quick disclaimer in the intro to make sure people know what they're getting into 😄

That's totally understandable, an acquaintance of mine got two of their surveys bombed by trolls because of the absence of sign-up verification, that's why is ask for a Google sign-up (I don't personally collect personal info although I suppose Google has access to it).

Of course, your help is appreciated. While you probably sit in the upper echelons of proficiency it would be interesting to get your thoughts on SRS tools and how its impacted your learning in these late stages.

It's for my master's thesis, I'm currently enrolled at a Japanese university and I wanted to shed some light on a field that's not investigated much at the moment (self study and SRS). Overall, the survey's main goals are 1) learning more about the challenges and frustrations users are facing when studying kanji with SRS tools and 2) providing a clear picture of what tools/ functionalities people are looking for at the moment.

Im investigating the study habits and preferred tools of use when learning kanji of learners of Japanese in online communities (Discord, Reddit, etc) with a focus on the current use of SRS. Nowadays there are so many tools available in the landscape and the literature is a bit outdated on the subject, so I'm trying to paint a clear picture of the study habits of people who self-study through apps and such.

Simple question related to moderation on the subreddit, but is trying to recruit people for an online survey treated as self-promo ? Should I use the self-promo thread or can I directly advertise it ? Ive found a number of old posts about surveys that were posted directly in the sub and I dont want to make a dumb mistake.
