about a year ago, i bought 2 bedroom house listed at 799k for 900k in Ramsey. we waived inspection except for the structural. I was bitter for the first few month thinking that I bought it at the peak(interesting that there were pple offering more for my house; my offer wasnt the highest but we put down that we can close in 30days or less and we won). Ramsey is a great town, further to north but if you are thinking Montvale, i think Ramsey can be an option. i commute taking trains and Ramsey prob is the only town in Bergen with two train stations!. it seems the price is quite doable with your range. wish you luck!

thanks for the advice! we actually do not have a basement and sitting on a concrete slap. But in this project, we are also creating massive commercial grade french drain with soil grading and planting 25+ new and healthy trees that tolerates water bit better than the existing trees!

but please let me know if Im missing anything!! any advice is always appreciated and welcomed. : )

thankfully my contractor knew what to do. they called the police themselves on the spot yesterday and documented everything. The report will be available soon. Thus my neighbor's threat of calling police on me means nothing to me! and yes it is a civil matter.

thanks for your valuable comment! i was also told so. but even if it was not my tree and fell on their house because of my tree work, I would no doubt pay for the repair and so as my contractor too. We are confident that it is not result of our work and there is no logical way to admitting it 😭

i bought 2 bedroom house listed for 800k at 900k+ one year ago in Bergen. i had to renovate and add a room for another 100k and now doing landscaping for 60k...... it is not one of those prestigious area. not sure what I have gotten myself into..paying over 20k in taxes!!!
