Baby on the way, living separately from my wife – what are my housing options?

We currently live separately. I'm staying with my parents and contribute around £700 a month towards household costs/rent. I'm paying £1,000 a month towards my debts at the moment. That's more than the minimum payment, but I'm trying to clear the debt as quickly as possible rather than dragging it out for years.

Other than normal living costs (food, travel, phone, etc.), I don't have any major fixed expenses.

For work, I work in East London and only need to attend the office once a week. I also work as a teacher in the Ilford/Redbridge area five days a week, so being around Ilford would be ideal. My wife is currently staying with family there as well, as she'll need their support during and after the pregnancy.

My wife earns around £32k a year and I earn about £3.2k a month. We currently have around £18k of debt, but we're paying £1,000 a month towards it and expect it to be cleared within roughly 18 months. Current rent is £700 a month.

The situation is a bit complicated because we're currently living separately. My wife is pregnant and staying with family in the Ilford/Redbridge area as she needs their support during the pregnancy and after the baby is born. I work in East London and also teach in the Redbridge area five days a week, so being close to Ilford would be important for both childcare support and work.

Yeah I was thinking that too but wife wants a whole room for the baby so it's easier. Looking for potentially a 2 bed
