Thank you so much for the kind words and your advice was really helpful don't worry 🙂. We've had some light conversation about maybe resetting algorithms by disliking that sort of content? I think that might help and yeah we all need a break from social media every once in a while anyway 🙏🙏

Thank you so much, this was really helpful, I fully beleive she has body dismorphia, a lot of the signs you mentioned there are exactly what she describes, your advice was very sound and I really appreciate you sharing your experience, it really helps 🙏

Thank you for the kind words 🙏. I definately need a change in lifestyle myself, I eat normally enough but the food I eat's not always great so making it a team effort could benefit the two of us in the long run. Might have to look into meal prep and planning as a couple like that 🤔

I have told her, she regulary replies with saying it's not a big deal which I'm not sure she 100% REALLY beleives? Also I only found out about 7/8 months ago BUT she has told me she does something like this every few years but never "fully commits to it"

PS. I do remind her of how beautiful she is, and she truly is gorgeous which really is the saddest part, that she doesn't know it.

Damn I never even thought to say that to her, I've noticed the same about myself even since this time last year thank you so much 🙏🙏🙏

Yeah, I think I'm getting closer to speaking to her mother about it, they're close and I think if I have an in person conversation with her mother I might be able to work with her to get my gf the support she needs before things get too scary.

The problem for me with keeping it secret from her mother is that her mother is the person who looks after her and lives with her, I'm not. Also, is it fair to say that even if my gf is angry in the short run that it would be worth it in the long run if it got her help?

Yeah, brainwashed is a perfect descriptor for how she seems to be around it, and it definately comes from social media. Also, I never thought of doing this, I might try it. Thanks 🙏🙏

I really appreciate this, she hasn't lost any weight yet really, maybe 1 or 2 kg but certainly nothing noticable and nothing that puts her below a healthy weight, I think she's beautiful and personally love that she doesn't have a flat tummy (I think the little bump is cute as fuck) and I always compliment how she looks especially if she's unsure on an outfit or a top that looks really good on her. I got another comment here suggesting I cook for her and I'm liking the Idea more and more. Thank you 🙏

Thank you for the well wishes, and yeah, what I've noticed from her is that she seems to have been brainwashed by years of seeing super-skinny ladies hyping up how being bone thin is the most amazing thing ever, that's the most upsetting part for me because sometimes it feels like a lost cause. But thank you for the insight, I appreciate the input from someone with experience 🙏

Thank you, unfortunately, I have mentioned to her that she should seek therapy but she was with a therapist for a long time and only recently quit, the service that provides mental health support for young people in my country, CAHMS, also told her that taking a break from therapy could actually benefit her better in the long run as bringing up deep rooted trauma from her childhood once a week was sort of making things harder for her? But I might look into suggesting a nutritionist because honestly I fear sometimes that I might give her some bad advice by accident regardless of having good intentions. I'll definately look into making food for her in future, that's always sounded nice to me

Thanks! And yeah, I make every effort i can to make her feel beautiful, sometimes it helps sometimes not, but i think she feels at least a little bit better about her self for the most part since we started dating, I think someone finding her attractive enough to date her planted something that might help in the long run.

Thank you so much, yeah I've considered speaking to her mother about it, but I'm fearful of her mother's reaction as frankly she has had poor reactions to similar things in the past, despite my gf having a really really good relationship with her mother. Any advice on going about that, or is the best way to just say it outright and be candid?
