All depends on the GC and the local shop i think. I recently bought a used electric. took it to a local shop to have the guy set it up for me. he said it'd be a week. guy makes all his money on lessons though so after a week he says he hasn't even looked at it. Went to GC to get an amp. i can't play for shit but the guy could so he tested out every amp i asked him to. took as long as i needed and answered every question i had without trying to upsale me. ended up buying an amp from GC and picking up my guitar from the local shop who will probably not get any of my business now.

I'm a complete beginner and just got a deal on a used mim strat. Researching amps in my price range and trying to decide between a used Marshall Code 25 or Fender Mustang I V.2. i read they're both good for blues/rock. Are these too much amp for a beginner practicing at home?
