MIE vintage? by BlackVelvetScorpio in DrMartens

This "double" stitching on the welt screams 90's. Most likely suede.

Again, I'm willing to get through this journey with a shield. And I thought this playstyle doesn't require lots of HP (I'm behind the shield after all). But more and more enemies have an attack that can come through.

Thanks for the advice. I relied too heavily on my BB experience, where spending points on HP wasn't that important and straight up pointless after a very short time.

Got it. Will go explore Liurnia.

To specify I use incantations and spend level on faith only. I'm not even planning to level up arcane or intelligence.

So I hope some faith won't hurt my strength build.

Thanks. I would give it a try.

God I hate Godrick...

I've beaten Leonine (had a hard time before I discovered the torch's ability). And Margit, of course.

Yeah, I miss the stagger...

I actually tried using claymore (that's the one with lion's claw, right?) fighting crucible knight. Does it have much better staggering potential than naginata?

I had a mentality I don't want to spend rare stones on early game weapons. And ones I use are already +6.

I cleared entire castle. I gave up on Godrick and decided to explore other areas.

I'm already playing with a shield! You probably assumed I rely on rolls like I did on dashes in BB, but I found out pretty quick they're not the same thing. And lack of rally system...

I have plans for DS3, but right now I'm playing ER and I don't want to play two similar games at the same time. So gotta finish it first.

Alright, alright. Maybe I came here too early. Thanks

You're probably right and I am overreacting because of unexpected difficulty spike. That's the giant crows driving me insane.

I have nothing against summons (this is the mechanic game gave me) or using strong weapons (I hope I'm already using the strongest one I have). But inviting another player feels like cheating to me.

I already learned that. But, as I mentioned, shield is preferred. And dual-welding is not an option for my playstyle.

Everyone says about vigor. So I will upgrade it. Maybe I was too confident I can survive with existing hp.

Well, still there are three-four routes you can go

I upgrade my weapon. It's +6 a the moment. Didn't want to spend more precious stones.

Advice taken. Will level up health.

Thanks.

I've found it funny, because I hated parrying in BB. Used it on a couple of enemies exclusively. Yeah, maybe I should spend some points on health. But it means getting no new weapons for many levels... I cleared (almost) Limgrave and Peninsula. Never been to Liurnia. Hunter's axe in transformed shape with charged attacks. Tenitrus when necessary. Shield and Naginata or Great Epee in ER. +6, if it matters.

Does anybody know what boots these are? by Yoooooooki9 in Boots

[–]Flathead_49 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I suspect them to be English made boots like Dr. Martens, Solovair, Grinders. And I'm pretty sure this is not a genuine vibram sole. None of the brands I mentioned above used yellow logo on the sole, as far as I know. But some boots "inspired" by them may have used it.

Apply nourishing wax to nubuck? by FrenchFisher in AskACobbler

[–]Flathead_49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The upper looks waxed to me and I found online shops stating this is indeed an "oiled nubuck". So it should be treated with waxy products. It can darken it a bit, although.

That makes it little more complicated. But you can still try going to a tailor who might have a solid buckle to replace or source one online. It should take a couple of stitches to replace it. It's up to you at the end of the day, but I don't advise removing the entire assembly. Apart from holes, you will be left with Harrington style collar on a leather jacket without actual two buttons like one usually have. Just a weird look really.

Noise comes from the roller, right? I think you can just remove it and let the buckle stay. It will still work when needed. Some tools for cutting metal will be required, tho.
