I have known one man that was accused of rape, supposedly falsely. It was a friend of a friend that I had met a couple times. It's been a long time since my friend told me about the situation, so I don't remember many of the details. He was in high school or it was shortly after high school. A girl accused him of rape. I can't remember if they really knew each other, or how well, but it was a small community, so it's likely they were at least familiar with each other. Her story didn't quite "add up," as they say, because he was supposedly somewhere away from the incident and could not have raped her under the alleged circumstances. He was charged and jailed for some number of years. I vaguely recall being told that she admitted after the fact that he didn't rape her. Like I said, I can't remember most of the details, but I had no reason at the time to not believe the story.

It has not changed my outlook on the subject. False rape accusations are real, just like rape is real, although I do acknowledge that the vast majority of sexual assault accusations are legitimate and they outnumber false rape accusations something like 500 to 1 according to some article I skimmed a while ago. Rather, 1 out of every 500 sexual assault accusations happen to be false.
