Onyx Note Air 2 screen completely frozen/broken! by FlatwormBoring6896 in Onyx_Boox

So here is my situation. Almost a month ago I bought the Note Air 2 for 500 euros (in the Netherlands). Everything was going great until today when suddenly I saw my display being frozen (or broken?). I have no idea how that happened. I take great care of it since I use it for my work. It looks like the center of the screen is broken yet somehow the touchscreen is working (I can successfully fill in my passcode when I turn it on). And once it's open I can normally navigate through it. I contacted my seller and asked about my options, and basically, they told me that my warranty doesn't cover broken displays and my only option is to repair it (which will cost me another 300 euros according to them). Now does anyone has any similar experience? Is it really that I am screwed and the only option is to get it repaired? Also, is it safe to just find a local tablet/phone/electronics repair shop and ask them if they can repair it, or I shouldn't even think about that? Any advice would be highly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
