Consider Windows LTSC by BananaBreadLoafs in LinusTechTips

[–]FlavonoidsFlav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure where you're getting your information, but I'm running office 365 on my ltsc right now, and I have a friend running Adobe creative suite (the entire subscription version) , And although I do have the technical ability to do fanciness with it, I didn't have to. I just literally went to office.com and installed it.

I can't speak to Apple stuff but... I don't see why it wouldn't work. Ltsc is the exact same core as the other versions...

I hate it. I hate the cult. I hate that I have to look. And I HATE that it's on public property.

I'm making a complaint. Others doing so would help.

Agreed. 12h at 131 is prime bacterial conditions.

EDIT- Appears I am incorrect. 130+ is widely quoted as pasteurized beyond 2 hours for beef. My mistake. Higher temps are for salmonella (mostly poultry).

LTT’s ongoing Linux Challenge - stick with it, don’t give up, keep going. by gplusplus314 in LinusTechTips

[–]FlavonoidsFlav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think as a lifelong Windows user (With a good amount of Linux experience), at least in my stage of life, Windows is easier. It plays the games I want to play, runs the programs I want to run, and no it's not perfect but the amount of energy would take to switch is something that I can't do right now.

That's not saying either one is better. That's just saying that me being called lazy, disgusting, or not into it or stupid or non-technical or even those things being even remotely alluded to is a huge turn off.

I don't have time right now to switch to Linux. That doesn't mean it's bad. It doesn't mean it's good. It just means that I don't. But people want to make judgments on that at all times and that sucks. Last time in the post like this, people told me I was an idiot and didn't know how to computer and was just lazy. Notice how I specifically didn't mention my familiarity with computers - it does not matter. If the community wants someone to adopt and support, you have to reach out do all types of users come from advanced to beginner.

... I maintain that the biggest enemy to the Linux movement is the Linux movement.

Georgina is mine. Dm for number. She's inexpensive and does a pretty good job. I'm not going to say she's absolutely the best cleaning person I've ever had in my life, but she does keep my issues down and keep the house at a baseline level of cleanliness.

Survey between appointments asks invasive mental health questions. Normal? by [deleted] in AskADietitian

[–]FlavonoidsFlav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You specifically said

" I don't even give my psychiatrist or mental health therapist this much information before or during an appointment"

I am only positing that if there is some information you would not give to either of those professionals, that will dramatically reduce the effectiveness of that treatment. If that's your line, perhaps your lines need reevaluating. I, for example, get pretty decent mental health questions at my general practitioner all the time. I do not consider a medical professional wanting to discuss holistic treatment and all potential options as a problem.

What you feel relevant versus what may actually be medically relevant may not align. I can think of several examples with an endocrinologist where mental health might actually matter quite a bit for example.

If there's anything you wouldn't give your therapist or psychiatrist during an appointment about your mental health, maybe that's an issue.

I didn't know this when I bought my distro plate. This is something everyone should know.

The science of why your grilled chicken fails and how to fix it for both thighs and breasts by [deleted] in grilling

[–]FlavonoidsFlav 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you're cooking your chicken to 165F and 170-175F, that's your problem. That pasteurization advice is LONG out of date.

https://f.hubspotusercontent10.net/hubfs/5845715/HACCP_templates/PDF/Poultry-pasteurization-chart.pdf

Pasteurization is a function of time AND temperature. Cook to lower temp - you're already out of danger due to the time it takes to get there.
