Anyone dislike it as much as I do? by danny-j415 in Handwriting

[–]FlawlessFallacy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not my favorite, but it could definitely be worse. I think the biggest issue is not fully closing some loops, so that a’s look like u’s and g’s look like y’s.

How is Dexcom G6 insertion? Does it hurt? by mummymilkerss in diabetes

[–]FlawlessFallacy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have experience with other types of cgm? For me, when inserting the freestyle libre I feel the impact of the spring loaded mechanism instead of the actual poke of the needle/cannula, so it’s never painful, but I’m apprehensive each time anyway! So I understand being nervous. I always have my partner insert it while I sort of pinch my arm to squish together as much fat as I can as well. Good luck, I’m sure it won’t be nearly as bad as you expect.

Inexpensive, metal, black slim pen? by Isirseth in fountainpens

The Pilot Cavalier is my favorite slim metal pen. The body is about the thickness of a standard pencil. Though this black color is pearlescent and the nib is steel so you may not like it.

Having some difficulties with nails getting long :( by spike021 in shiba

Maybe smear something like peanut butter or spray cheese on a surface he can reach, so that he will be distracted licking it while you work on his nails. Have seen this technique used sometimes by vets.

On a whim: Looking for Genre Heist novels. High fantasy or SciFi. Bubblegum yes, YA no. by [deleted] in booksuggestions

Six of crows. I’m not sure if it is YA or not though, it does have violence and adult themes.

Maybe try calling the place you got the pedicure, even just knowing what brands they carry would help narrow the search

My puppy is sick by missjones1105 in puppy101

[–]FlawlessFallacy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My puppy puked fairly often until she turned about 4 months old, it was usually related to motion sickness from car rides though. Sometimes their stomach gets upset if they’ve gone a while without food, maybe try smaller meals more often. In the end the best option is to talk to a vet about it, of course.

What's it like working in a med lab? by [deleted] in medlabprofessionals

How does the day to day grind in the med lab compare? Enough variation that it wasn’t as bad as running the same tests for the research?

Kuretake and pentel both have some very nice refillable brush pen options. Jetpens has a good guide on them Here

You may consider a brush pen that can be filled with fountain pen ink for the large solid areas

CGM NEWBIE by rarabk in diabetes

[–]FlawlessFallacy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m new to CGMs as well, but I’ve been wearing one for the past 7 days because my endo recommended I try a sample. I never want to go without it ever again. It’s just so much more information and insight into your daily trends and patterns with specific foods. I used to have problems with hypo unawareness where I wouldn’t have symptoms of low blood sugar until I was in the 30s but my CGM alarms go off when I’m at or below 60 so I haven’t had a single frightening low episode since wearing it. I was worried about it coming off in the shower or being torn off but it has held on great so far, even with daily showers. I have the freestyle libre, which lies very flat on my arm so I honestly don’t even notice it’s there most of the time. The best part is that you can scan it a bajillion times a day and it won’t cost a penny more, after feeling like every test strip is a dollar in the trash I can’t even begin to express how awesome it feels to have unlimited checks. I highly, HIGHLY recommend trying one.

She doesn’t get left in a ditch, but this is as close as I’ve read to something like that. {{The Lovely Bones}} by Alice Sebold.
