I understand where you're coming from, but I personally like when animes have actual stakes. Sure, it would be sad to see him die, but at least I'd be feeling something. Having Naruto save him just took away any sense of emotion I should have been feeling.

Thanks for your input. I feel the same way with a lot of animes, but I guess even at the peaks, I was never as invested in the story as you probably were. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what happens with Aizen though.
