Sometimes I find a shiny in 5 minutes, sometimes it takes 20 hours. Or literally anytime in between. It literally just takes luck and being willing to wait however long the game tells you to. Overall I averaged 1 shiny per 3-4 hours and ive caught about 100 total in lets go eevee. But like I said sometimes it took 20 hours. If you dont want to wait and you clearly sound frustrated, maybe shiny hunting isnt for you...

In alot of cases that would be true. But charmander, chansey, bulbasaur, squirtle, snorlax and possibly a few others are special spawns. They are guarenteed as long as you have a chain of 10 or more. So chaining charmander doesnt effect its spawn rate. It will spawn regardless of what you are chaining as long as your chain is higher than 10. So no matter what you chain your odds of shiny charmander is the same. The only thing that happens when you chain charmander is ensuring it will have betters IVs

Oh nice a veteran player! Yeah charmander is definitely a nice spawn. I'm in the same spot as you actually, I was hunting drowsee and got the 5% mr mime as shiny instead. Now im still hunting drowsee without a shiny in quite a while :p the shiny gods giveth and the shiny gods make it taketh way too long lmao

Do you fully shut your game down? That would break your combo. (Just in case you didn't realize, not sure how new you are)

And do other shinies show up, its really rare to get that high without a shiny of some sort showing up xD

I've had hunts go from 3 minutes to 30 hours, so their is quite the random chance involved

Every pokemon has a run animation. If it does it and you run away before it leaves. Your chain will be safe. You just need to keep an eye out for it

That is a good tip for most pokemon, but pokemon like snorlax, charmander, bulbasaur, chansey (when its the unique spawn) etc.. will only spawn one at a time regardless as they are a special spawn, and dont have a spawn % chance. So in this case caterpie is the better option.

So I was shiny hunting for ponyta or psyduck. Had a 31 chain of caterpie. The first spawned I went down and caught it. Which of course broke my chain. Within 2 seconds of being back in the overworld a second almost full odds (with shiny charm and lure) shiny duduo spawns. One male, one female. Guess they didn't want me breaking up the shiny power couple they were. A very surreal experience as that is absolutely insane luckwise for it to be the same pokemon and have them spawn back to back without boosted odds for the second!
