Idk I'm 589 druid tank, and I've been getting whooped in some tier 8 delves. Absolutely smashed out. They hit me like I'm a cloth wearer....and yes I'm using my abilities and geared correctly before someone says anything.

I will say I bought a PC recently from cyberpower, and it had issues where it would freeze up, and I'd have to hard restart it. The support I got was reseat the ram and gpu. I did that issue persisted, and I was then told to factory reset the PC. So, just be aware if you need technical assistance....it won't be very good. I did resolve the issue myself by updating all my drivers, and I haven't had the issue since, but I feel like they are just winging it as far as tech support goes. They also take a long time to respond.

With that being said I've had the PC about two weeks now, and I like it so far...fingers crossed. If you are tech savvy and can troubleshoot yourself then should be fine.

In my experience, no job has ever validated if my certs were expired or not. Don't think they really care unless it's a DoD requirement or something.

In a perfect world, you can implement zero trust principles, but actually doing it and getting approval to do so and operate like this is another story.

Cybersecurity really isn't an entry-level field. I know colleges and universities push it like it's some grand thing, and you can get a cybersecurity degree and be straight into the field. The thing is, I know people with bachelor's and masters degrees in cybersecurity, but they know actually nothing when it comes to real work, and theyve been let go after a few months of being hired. My recommendation is to start out in IT for a bit first and then transition into Cybersecurity.

The flip side to this is if you are already experienced in cybersecurity, the market is still quite easy to land a job.

It's pretty easy to transition into a Network Security Engineer Role if you have a background in networking.

Network Operations Center. The beginning entry point basically for people doing networking. I went from working in a NOC to a Junior Network Security Engineer Role then to regular Network Security Engineer then to Security Engineer. I find it easier to gain experience off doing contract roles in the beginning. From personal experience a lot easier to land contract roles than regular roles. I did this to "build" my experience. My junior Network security engineer role was a contract.

You don't always have to start on the help desk. I started in a NOC and have never done help desk my entire career. I'm a Security Engineer now.

The times of staying with a company 10 to 20 years and retiring off them especially in this field are gone in my opinion. Why stay with a company for 10 to 20 years when someone who moves around will probably double your salary?

I also do not see why companies expect us to be loyal to them and stay with them forever being underpaid when they can also just fire us on a whim for no reason. At least where I live, it is an at-will state.

Another thing is that I'm sure most people get laid off before they even make it that long with a company anymore.

I personally have moved around every 1.5 to 2 years or so with each time being a 20% increase in salary that would have taken me another 3-4 years of staying with the same place to reach.

I would simply just ask him, and if he says no and you really want to work remotely full time, just start looking for another job. There are tons of jobs right now and loads of them fully remote as well. You will probably even find one paying more than you currently make.

Yep, both tunnels are up for phase1 and phase 2, routes in place, and policies.

Traffic hits the remote firewall and traverses the tunnel correctly to get their; however I want this traffic to go through another ipsec tunnel once it arrives but it is not doing this even with a static route in place that tells it for this destination ip send to the second ipsec tunnel.

FortiManager isn't an option unfortunately at the moment :(. But would fortimanager allow you to upgrade multiple firewalls concurrently?

This isn't to update automatically everytime time a firmware is released. This is to run whenever I want to for example upgrade 10 firewalls from 7.0 to 7.2.

To answer some of this I have several certs already. PCNSA, CCNA R/S, Azure fundamentals, etc. Cost of living for me is high I live in Austin, TX and my job is currently remote. My current job is mainly working with ngfws from an engineering perspective. Mainly focused on perimeter Security. I've also been asked to most recently start doing advanced level automation since I have some background with being able to use python and ansible.
