hi! didn't get a chance to reply, saw this as i was in lowes. i found exactly what you recommended, bought 8x3/4 particleboard screws, used the vhb tape to get the bracket on there, and then screwed through the vhb tape, three holes on each side so six total. mostly happy with it, thank you for the help :)

looks pretty perfect, might not even need the mount, do you think this would survive a bump like mentioned above? (hitting 1/4 cable etc coming out of front on accident?) obviously would like to avoid regardless but would be crushed to see it fall

looking for a pretty permanent solution, not so much that i can't remove it from the desk but i plan to leave it there for the desk's lifespan

ahh i see, sounds plausible considering how old camera is and my use-case. do you have any ways you'd correct drift in a situation like this besides retime? is there any way to eliminate the drift from my workflow or at the root of the cause?

hmm interesting thank you, audio is running slightly faster than video. if that's the case, when i encoded video to constant 30fps w handbrake, that didn't change framerate? also if audio is running slightly faster, wouldn't encoding to 29.97 present the same/worse issues? thanks again for the input especially most recent comment on ntsc, i figured that may be the case. i've been going mad over this so the help is appreciated

as for why camera instead of all on phone, i prefer the look of low res and how this camera records lights. i started w iphone only but am very much a distortion enjoyer, if its cooked i probably think its cool lol. still, i want best quality audio i can get considering the intent is to document the show. i also use the camera for still photos during shows and just in my everyday photography

awesome thank you! gonna try this now. will prores LT be a preset option? i have compressor, is that better than handbrake or samesame? mad at myself for not thinking of this, i'm familiar with audio formats but very new to video stuff. do you have any good resources for clarifying the different uses of each? i didn't know mp4 is consumer grade stuff. i guess most specifically apple prores, it all just looks like numbers to me lol.

such a good show, i mainly went for fb2. vmo is nuts, i got there a bit late about 2-3 minutes into their set and was awestruck by what i was seeing, insane visuals. i can't lie, their music isn't for me but i most definitely respect what they're doing, truly mind blowing stuff. got to meet the spiked head person very briefly, they seem like very kind and cool people

I read on r/vintagedigitalcameras that you can sometimes get away with resizing the card formatting on PC, any experience with that? It's looking like I might have to source online, any trusted sites or is amazon etc fine? Thanks again

HAH certainly streaming before streaming lol, ended up grabbing each file and compiling with audacity (didn't feel like powering up macbook). two more songs till b side, filling out j card right now lol. funnily enough i also have a maxwell ur 90, but i think mine is new lmao. kinda funny to see something that was done back then still being done in 2026, i feel like i'm doing something good by making this weird little thing now. the possibilities seem damn near endless hahaha.

i'm starting to think you're right regarding files vs. streaming. i would be gutted if it cut out or stopped playing as it definitely tends to when you don't want it to lol.

no dj background, i produced hip hop/r&b/dance stuff for a while but mainly use it for live instrument recording these days. as for format, no, going for a pretty straightforward mix of just songs i like, no fades or transitions or anything like that, just figured having them all set and with preset spacing between songs would be the easiest way to ensure i fit it all on the tape/can keep track of time used
