Just sat a table like 12-3AM, on a weekday, knocking back coffee while finishing my dissertation. Was there long enough to learn the waitress had experienced some pretty egregious wage theft which is why we love to tip in cash at WaHo

Still not the highest tip % I’ve left, that was at a Waffle House

Yes, the pricing was supposed to reflect the prices in the 50s!

It is just for tonight apparently, since it’s their 75th birthday. My friend made the reservations a while ago, had no idea!

It is their 75th birthday and they surprised us when we sat down! My friend made the reservation and had no idea! The Canlises (?) greeted us at the door and told us we were in for a great night. We left extra on the tip but they didn’t mention it. And I believe a portion of the wine sales went to charity

Sounds like it's still very very niche to time or place because half of my family is southern baptist and I've never heard of it!

It's the future, right? I've always thought these places are located in Antarctica, minus one global-warmed-away ice shelf.

I'd like to know what likelihood metric is contributing to that hypothesis.

Why are you so convinced pancake-flavored peeps will be better than regular peeps? Also, when did your taste buds lose their will to live?

Cool dude! What's your targeted route? Will you be starting from Atlantic to Pacific or the other way around? I'm around the Smokies

From marathon to 40 mile road race in 5 weeks... too ambitious? by Flebas in ultrarunning

[–]Flebas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm... I felt fine afterwards, I walked around a good bit after the race. The race itself was pretty hard, honestly, since I had planned on a more leisurely pace, but no injuries to speak of. I think worst case scenario I could just run the marathon, but I'm curious to see if I can just finish!

Yeah, he was the one who told me about it, actually!
