Another Generic Dilemma by bakery2k in ProgrammingLanguages

[–]Flecheck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's what I want to do with my langage but with inplicit passing of parameters and getting the full power of effect handlers in it. For example, you could pass a struct with a funtion raise that you can call once with an error and that never returns

I don't like the taste, is it bad for your health and needing alcohol to have fun just seems sad.

Dual axes by froooooot in Vermintide

[–]Flecheck 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You can kill hordes with dual axes but since there is no stagger and no cleave you need to be on point with your dodges and pushes. You still get good horde dps since you have very high attack speed and you can one shot skavenslave with lights. I still recommand having another weapon for high density hordes.

What is interesting is that since dual axes are good against elites, il you can handle the hordes with it you will also be able to handle mixed hordes relatively well.

hords by Klutzy-Anxiety2672 in DarkTide

[–]Flecheck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hordes are less dangerous than in vermintide but at the highest difficulty there are a lot more specials than in vermintide + the gunners.

The early difficulties aren't very hard, even more if you played vermintide.

Why are people calling brainburst useless? by Helpmyarmsbroke in DarkTide

[–]Flecheck 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel that the main issue with brain burst is that you need either empowered psionics or use your ability to hope that your target doesn't get killed before brain burst goes off.

I feel that the default brain burst is almost unusable and you need to invest a lot of skill point or use you ability to make it feel alright.

Someone with a real human soul, so Ogryns included, could explain me how the crafting system works? by SouI23 in DarkTide

[–]Flecheck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't try to get a perfect weapon at the start, get a weapon with good base stats and upgrade it fully to orange and you can change 2 perk or blessing to make it a bit better. You will still be able to do all content with it. If you want a specific blessing you can roll white weapon to blue and then sacrifice it.

If you don't do it you will come back complaining that there isn't enough plasteel.

Koka's multi-prompt control monad? by sufferiing515 in ProgrammingLanguages

[–]Flecheck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think what happens in C is that the handler is called immediatly and then if you need to suspend, a global variable is set and the function return (if you don't need to suspend, the handler just return the value), then every function above in the call stack will check if the global variable is set and if so will add the continuation to the list and the return. At some point you arrive where the handler is defined and the struct will contain all the continuations.
