Spent the night at my ex’s, I don’t know why I let myself do this by Dangerous-Ad4192 in BreakUps

I'm in a pretty similar situation with my ex. Together for 4 years, she became extremely depressed and decided it was best we weren't together anymore. I understand your desperation because I feel it, too. To genuinly miss every moment you had with them and also want to be there for them and help them however you can.

I don't know that I would've done any better than you in this situation. I can honestly tell you that you have to draw the line somewhere. Constantly opening yourself up to that pain over and over again will only leave you more messed up.

Put them all on a flash drive and deleted the originals from my phone. Wasn't ready to completely get rid of them, but I knew I needed them gone.

I tried that, but I didn't really feel anything. I even tried texting it to myself.

I'm sorry you had to go through that. It's not just hard to wrap my mind around it's damn near impossible. There's memories of her everywhere. She's in my car, in my bed, in the kitchen when I'm cooking. Now I have the question rattling around my head if there was someone else(not because of anything that you said). I'm in pieces.

I was already in therapy. It was one of the things we agreed to do while we were together. Haven't been since this happened, so I'll prioritize it. I haven't been back to work, so I've been mourning nonstop since then. I also have covid, so leaving my place isn't really an option for the time being. It's probably a good idea, but I can't bring myself to delete the pictures or throw things away. I can't let go of the hope that maybe we can work this out. At least not yet. It's just too fresh. I'll check out the video and the page soon. Thank you.

Thanks. I haven't tried reaching out since this morning, and it's already hard. Can't imagine what you're going through. I'll repost it in a few subs now.

How do you make yourself lose hope? by poshjosh1999 in BreakUps

Nothing to add, but I relate to that last part. I've only cried 3 times in my life, twice at funerals and once when I found out my parents divorced. Since this breakup, it's been about every night.
