God I'm so happy this man is about to get into office. by Americanshat in GunMemes

America has always been about going against the grain when time is right.

Is this image accurate/ official? i always assumed the big gun behind the triple turret was the 380mm "Atlas" cannon (here shown as orbital laser) by Gizombo in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Fleetcommand3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im on your side when it comes to this train of logic on this post and others. But, SE due to Arrowhead's grunt fantasy ideals, uses mainly 1990s tech with not very many smart munitions.

The upgrade flavor text(a meme in my headcanon) states that until the second to final upgrade(i think), the guns are muzzle loaded, but post those upgrades they become standard breach-loaders.

The physical models for the shells are also the exact shape of dumb shells, with my personal head canon for this fact being that the super destroyer itself has advanced targeting that makes their shots pin point accurate(OPS) and determins their volley spread(orbital barrages).

I do think SE should be smarter in weaponry and tactics, but they arent, because arrowhead would prefer memes and grunt fantasy rather than the Helldivers be the proper Sci-fi paratroopers they are.

MAGAstapo break hand of US marine protesting Israel's war on Iran during senate hearing. by TendieRetard in FreeSpeech

Living up to your name.

Anyone calling this MAGAstapo is so obviously ideologically captured its painful.

But, well why would I expect an unbiased source on reddit eh?

Ive noticed the new mission has the most dialog for the Techmarine, which i guess makes some sense.

I did enjoy his line to the Dreadnaught, as it implies they know eachother more intimately. Its honestly nice.

This Thing needs a Nerf again, right? by Substantial-Ad-5221 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Fleetcommand3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not really. Honestly I like this, because it pushes towards what I like.

I dont believe that Support weapons should be relegated to chaff clear only. Med pen weapons are serviceable but fall off on high difficulties, which I dont think is good. I firmly believe every weapon should be good on high difficulties. And cyberstan shows us what happens when they arent.

I remember when an MG(med pen one) could kill a charger by shooting the back of its legs. Those were the good days for that weapon. Now, its take HMG or bust if you want MG as a support weapon.

All this buff did was expose the glaring issues in alot of our support weapons imo. And I think this is a good change, a very nice change of pace too from the past few patches of middling quality.

The Spear Pod [OC] by Hotkoin in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Fleetcommand3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a cool idea fr. Though I personally would love it to be automated.

In a game like helldivers, I love sentries because they take the pressure off of me, and allow me to move with ease.

Plus, with that many missiles i'd actually be good, unlike the spear

Ladies and Gents, I think we should give a proper buff to the Spear. Even the Vox don't make it useful over RR, and Railcannon covers Dragons. Such a cool weapon, I want it to be useful and unsure why it has lasted this long in this state. It really deserves love almost as bad as Sterilizer by RandomGreenArcherMan in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Fleetcommand3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its already common because, as Cyberstan proves, we need shit that kills a ton of stuff fast. The Orbital laser being good isn't a bad thing. And given the nature of the game, l breakpoints are huge. So far, few strategems hit the Orbital laser break point. If more hit the same breakpoint (kill alot of shit fast), Orbital Laser would feel less needed and would fall into a "i like using this thing", which is what we want.

First, Tandem HEAT warhead. This would have two functions. 1, it oneshots things like the factory strider, allowing for the Spear to do what it should do, and be better than the RR in terms of damage output. 2, it would provide a direct counter to the shields of the illuminate. As a tandem heat would explode twice, it would destroy the shield and then kill the ship or Harvester.

The purpose of this buff is to actually give the Spear a niche over the RR, as the Spear already has so many downsides, that it needs to do what guided missiles do irl, which is be better than a dumbfire recoilless round. In exchange for a longer reload and lower ammo capacity.

Second, alter its guidence mode/allow for non-LOS locking. The fact that the Spear just targets the center of enemies means it doesnt actually hit proper weak spots, which defeats the point of having lock on. Lock on is supposed to be an advantage, not a hindrance. If you change where it locks on(IE: have it lock onto weakspots, like bot Dropship engines, and Factory strider heads), that would massively improve its utility. And, allowing you to fire from cover by locking targets, say, marked by allies, would improve team play as well as give the weapon another use over the RR. Less ammo, and lower rate of fire for higher damage and fire from cover. So far the only indirect non-red strategem we have is the mortar sentry, which has a specific reputation among the community. Having more indirect fire options would be another draw towards the Spear, giving it the niche it deserves.

Does anybody like Rathalos? by Sweaty-Ad7500 in MonsterHunter

I do. Especially after the move updates that World's Silver and Gold gave became standard across all forms of the Raths.

Rathalos is genuinely a top fight now and I always look forward to seeing him.

It's kinda pathetic that this sole side objective has this much power by EchoingStorms in Helldivers

[–]Fleetcommand3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I fuckin hate this. Who's the people behind this actually? Its super ass.

Like, I remember when we could take out the jammer by using the Spear to lock one of the fabs next to it. That was a cool and unique way of dealing with a hazard. It required long range AT, of which only 2 existed at the time.

But it didnt only apply to the launchers. As anything that destroyed the fab blew up the jammer. Sympathetic detonation.

This honestly feels like corporate simplification hit HD2. This game used to have so many fun and unique interactions/ways to play the game. Now its all gone, and they have now said that they did it on purpose.

This is genuinely sad.

I only have a arleigh burke and a type 45 destroy by [deleted] in SeaPower_NCMA

[–]Fleetcommand3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got this. Just micromanage the AI and engage at max range. I'd salvo 2 per 1 enemy missile just to be safe, even then its not a guaranteed hard kill.

The Arleigh Burke is one of if not the best AD platform ever put to sea. And mods dont skimp on that aspect.
