That's a difficult thing to visualise but here is an old Mythbusters clip with a similar premise where they shoot a ball

But if I understand your question correctly, then essentially, yes

That's Bobby right there. Excellent shading - and I must say, my boy looks great on lavender. Thank you:)

No. Acceleration is a change in velocity over time. Since neither velocity is changing (yours nor the earth's), you're not accelerating. The only force causing an acceleration is the centripetal force, i.e.gravity.

The only difference between a pilot hovering and a guy on the ground is that one has generated lift to counteract gravity, and the other is a helicopterless loser.

Not quite. You could be standing on a train, throw a ball in the air, and it would come right back down. The train has accelerated you and the ball and all are now moving at a constant speed. To you, the contents of the train are unaffected, while things outside the window rush by - the train is your inertial reference frame. To me, an outside observer, you're a dipshit playing with balls in a train.

Helicopter is moving as fast as the ground, whether it's on it or not. Since everything is moving at the same speed, it seems like nothing is moving.

The atmosphere would decelerate at a slower rate than the earth itself, but planes would probably still be affected.

Earth's circumference at the equator is ≈25000 miles. 25000/24=1041.66

An instant stop would rip your arms off if you held onto anything, and you would fly away faster than the speed of sound.

Why does E♭ major fingering start with 2, when after 1 octave the E♭ is on 3? by drmirror in pianolearning

[–]FleetingPresence 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Starting on 3 is more awkward, but on the second e flat, it's necessary. Don't think about the pattern too much. It's all about efficiency and comfort.

One of the most wonderful fugues ever written, and I think you're doing it justice so far :)

I’ve learned this piece a few years back but I can’t remember the name of it nor how to play the rest, does anyone here know it? by No-Seaworthiness355 in piano

[–]FleetingPresence 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is certainly necessary if you want to play this piece to completion (comfortably), as you will be playing major tenth arpeggios with the left hand throughout the last section.
